19 years of service at Applebees, Mindy is the best at recommending new meals. Today she recommended the crispy chicken breast sandwich from the new specials and mom is glad she did: highly recommend a visit for lunch!
Went in for a late dinner with a coworker on 10/29/2024. The service and drinks were fantastic. I do not remember the name of the waitress, but there can not be too many in Gaylord with an Alabama accent she did an excellent job. The steaks we ordered were perfect. The chef even came out and checked on us. It was the best steak I have ever had at a chain restaurant and one of the most relaxing meals after a full day of work
We went in for Dinner. Was at are Table for almost 45 minutes before a young man heard us say this is crazy. He came over said sorry we're changing over to evening staff. Took are Drink order and food at same time. Water,ice tea and Two Chicken salad's. Got are Drinks looked at time it was a hour and a table by us came in after us ordered got Hot food, we still sat without are Salad's. Someone Please open up some place to eat with half way good service. We're a very patient couple. Hate fast food but 2 1/2 hrs for Dinner Sucks when we Drive 30 miles.
Food came out fast and was hot. Service was a little slow for taking and placing orders. Atmosphere is just ok, could use a remodel.
We stopped in about an hour before closing. Staff were friendly and efficient. $.50 mozzarella sticks were really good, but having to pay $.50 for a tiny thing of ranch to go with them was weird. Nice experience overall.
After eating the ribs and French fries for dinner both my husband and I got very sick. Inflamed. For days. We are both gluten intolerant, myself more than him. So I know to be very careful. But I also expect the service crews to caution me about foods I shouldn’t order. That said I ordered the gf rib sauce. But we think it was the French fries that caused the issue. I know they were fried in the same fryer as the batter coated foods but that doesn’t usually make me so very sick. This was terrible. We think perhaps the coating on the fries was not safe. It should be made known for anyone who asks about gf. Hidden land mines can be deadly.
It took forever to get served and then the server would disappear for long periods of time. Had to physically get up and go look for her when the medium hamburger came out super rare. By the time the replacement burger made it's way back to the table, everyone else was done eating. You can get similar food all over town. Don't waste your time rolling the dice on this place.
This was my first time eating at an Applebee's. It was a pretty good first time. I had the fish & chips and onion rings. Our drinks were refilled when we were low. For the bill I scanned a QR code on the receipt to pay with my phone. They also take cash.
