It was 45 minutes exactly from the time we ordered our food before we were served after they gave My Food to someone else. I got a very poor and unconvincing apology about the mistake. It was quick and the person walked off as I was asking a question about it. The whole experience absolutely ruined our experience there and my birthday celebration. Could of at the very least comped the 1.99 brownie desert. I will say this thou the waiter himself was extremely thoughtful with my mother as she was slightly confused while ordering. Going as far as down to one knee to listen to her to make sure he understood her order. But management truly dropped the ball on the customer service. I do not recommend this Applebee's and will not be back. ????
Loved the food had a problem with a order last night male manager helped me out with no problems, only issue was that 2 workers couldn’t keep there mouths shut! 2 girls behind the bar that were working noticed me come in and started talking loudly to each other saying look at that weird kid he looks like he’s on drugs or drunk and continued to talk about me and laugh, for your information it’s a disability and I feel so uncomfortable to come back. Genuinely felt so embarrassed of myself and ashamed I can’t go back.
Review is for the South Portland restaurant-I ordered a Bourbon Street chicken and when the waiter placed it in front on me,I knew it was going to be hot but not too hot to the point where the hot oil was popping on my arm and I couldn't eat it. He didn't checked on us because I think he definitely knew. When the check came,I paid the bill but didn't leave a tip due to bad service. What I didn't expect was an email from Cash Card saying the amount was raised from 20.82 to 24.98 for the tip. I didn't leave one for a reason and it's truly untrustworthy to do that to a customer
Update:Got called by the manager on the 4th of July,no less.He said he found the receipt and I did in fact leave a tip, basically calling me a liar and believing the waiter over the customer. I told him well,the waiter must of felt untiled and wrote in the tip amount.He then changed the subject to how I left this review. If you don't want a bad review then don't have your waiter steal money from a customer,it's as simple as that!
I went there two nights in a row at happy hour. The bartenders provide decent service, the drinks were good. I ordered the wanton chicken tacos which I did not like, they were greasy and sauce did not have a good smell. Most of my experience with food here has been great so will rate it 5 stars because they try their best and are open late night.
If the photos don’t tell you enough let me just tell you about my experience on Easter 2024 at the South Portland Applebees. From the moment we walked in I could tell this was gonna be an experience for the ages. Out the gate there was few tables with people sat yet there was a 15 minute wait when we arrived and people already waiting in the lobby. Having already called an hour early to check if that was the case and being told it was not busy me and my people promptly waited in the car. 15 minutes later we finally walk in and find our cute little spot at a table right adjacent to the bar. Ordering drinks, it was hard not to notice the 5 employees walking around doing nothing while the lone bartender was left to prepare all the drinks by his lonesome and not just the drinks for our table FOR EVERY TABLE. Better yet they also made him buss all of them to each table despite the poor guys limp. Drinks came not too long after they were ordered, perks of siting near the bar. The drinks were actually pretty good I enjoyed my freezy drink and my epic blue Mountain Dew and my dad was quite fond of his funky alcohol drink. The food however ohh ho hoooo that my friend is another story entirely. Ordered shortly after our drinks had been had my dad ordered the salad, I ordered the buffalo chicken, and my poor girlfriend decided upon the macaroni and cheese more on that later. About 35 minutes or so go by of us waiting and jesting about the current goings on when finally our food comes out and just wow I wish I woulda taken some good pictures. My father said the salad was fine, unmemorable but fine. Upon receiving my ceramic boat of buffalo chicken tenders I was over joyed and with a big smile I took the first bite. One word rang through out my mid at first taste… TYSON though I could hardly complain especially compared to the disaster piece they served my sweet girl. The Mac and cheese. A bowl of penny pasta sprinkled with Parmesan, bacon bits was placed in front of her and after a few bites it was clear that wasn’t all this plate had in store. Out from under one of the noodles crawled a black ant. A horrified look came across her face as I looked over and began to laugh hysterically as my table slamming caused the pool of liquid in the dish to slosh about. 20 minutes and 120ish dollars later we left and as unmemorable as my fathers salad was I just must say I very much enjoyed my goofy silly time at Applebees on Easter of 2024.
Nice clean restaurant, bartenders Lisa & Kristen were very nice and knowledgeable.
Female General Manger was very nasty to customers about where to sit. She wanted to sit people within 1 ft right next to each other. During this pandemic that was not a good idea. I ask her were she in business to keep customers or run them away? The food was a 1 out of 10, but the drinks were GREAT.
Had the chicken wings and they were HORRIBLE, all fat and very distasteful...
My boyfriend and I visit the South Portland Applebees frequently. Just a few weeks ago, we visited and ordered appetizers and burgers, our food came out hot and everything was delicious (as usual). The service was excellent, and all of the staff were incredibly kind and attentive. We especially appreciate that the manager (Tom) is always rounding tables in the dining area and bar, interacting with customers and their children (even offering stickers), as well as supporting all the staff members in any task that needs to be done. Such great camaraderie and service! We will definitely be visiting again soon!
What a disappointment. Ordered an old fashioned. Best guess, the bartender has never made one before. Not sure what drink I received, but it certainly isn't what I ordered. Also ordered a cheeseburger and fries. Why ask how I would like the burger cooked if you're going to serve me something different? I ordered medium-rare/pink. I received a well done version of grey meat. The fries certainly aren't fresh. They're a warm-ish form of chewy. Cooked maybe an hour ago?
Nothing was really what I asked for, but still got charged full price. SMH Sad...
No. Will definitely not return.
