I got the "large" bowl of the chicken basil soup... It tasted great... But had less than half a cup in it. Honestly... I've had a cup of soup with more at other restaurants. The main meal, the honey chicken Mac and cheese... The chicken was great... But there was more milk than cheese... Very runny and not much flavor.
Food was great, service could have been better.
Was seated quickly, but two other parties who came in after us were served drinks before we were even greeted by anyone. Staff was not friendly and the table and menus were sticky. The place smelled like old water and mildew. We will not he returning.
Short story - the place is grubby and has really poor quality food with mediocre service.
Came in and got a seat. Immediately noticed that the table had a thick, tacky, oily coating on top from being slopped down with a cold rag too many times and not actually cleaned. Had a bit of a stale odor to the place but we decided to give it a try anyway. Cheese curds and spinach dip starters were the best things there because they came straight out of a bag. Sweet tea was alright. You get straws rolled into your silverware, but the kids don't get silverware and they don't want to give you any straws for them. I finally got my chicken dish (can't remember what it was, Cajun chicken or something with mashed potatoes). It came out on a skillet. Handle of the skillet was cold so the skillet was just quick heated on a burner, and the food looked like it had been slopped onto the plates. First bite of peppers, onions and chicken was the last bite. The vegetables tasted metallic and stale like they had been cooked a long time ago and although everything was sizing on the skillet the chicken was cold inside. I thought maybe I could eat the mashed potatoes but they were old enough that they were crunchy dry in places and had an almost musty flavor.
My wife did better and was able to eat about three bites of hers before giving up. The kids didn't eat anything but French fries but they don't really count considering they're picky a lot of times. We don't eat out a whole bunch and are maybe spoiled to home cooked meals, but this was just a case of a restaurant that's going downhill and slipping in all areas. Was around $80 if I remember right for me and the wife and a kids plate with two appetizers and we basically left all of it but the dip on the table that was dirty when we came in.
First visit here, been welcomed and served very friendly and well. The food was above fast food standards, that was a pleasant surprise. Prices are reasonable. Wouldn't hesitate to go again.
Service was terrible. Was seated for 20 minutes and no one took our drink order. People who were seated up to 10 minutes after us were served drinks. Will never return here!
If there was a star for zero, I would give a zero. The service was horrrrrible!!!! The waitress wasn’t pleasant. My husband ordered a beer and it name came. He told them to cancel it. We were still charged! My daughter had to tell about the appetizer she ordered. The manager came and said she would check on how long before our food would come out. She never came back to tell us. My daughter got her food before us Our food came out 10 minutes later. The table and floor was so sticky. It was gross. I have even at other Applebee’s and NEVER had to wait 30 minutes just to get an appetizer and I’m not even going to go there about the food. I will not eat at the Applebees in Natchez ms again!!!!
The waitress was super nice but I would like to add to always make sure to add condiments to takeout.
