Come here often, usually get the same thing every time. Had two dishes come back completely raw, one was the Bourbon street chicken which they remade for us but the other was the cinnamon swirls (to-go). got home and went to have some of the dessert just go have a mouth full of completely raw dough. don't know who's in the kitchen but damn- this was a first and a dangerous one at that
This place really went down hill. I got the whiskey bacon burger they put 5 tear drops of sauce on burger the tomato was white cut at the end must be a tomato shortage. The coleslaw had no taste and was dry. Burger was sloppy and fell apart. My buddy got a steak he wanted it well and came out med rare. The men's bathroom smells like they clean it with a dirty mop. Waitress was very nice and the soda was good. I was a cook in some restaurants and I would definitely start cleaning house in this kitchen if people didn't smartin up. Won't be back at this location ever because I was there a year ago and food was cold. Many other people I know said the same thing about this location. I never had a problem at the Wilkes-Barre location. This is definitely a management problem.
After a fairly busy Saturday, we decided on a whim to dine at Applebee's for dinner, and were pleased that we did. We arrived in the late afternoon/early evening and we were seated immediately in the moderately crowded restaurant.
Our server was extremely pleasant, and brought our drinks promptly, and allowed us some time to choose from a varied menu.
For appetizers, we ordered Brew Pub Pretzels and Beer Cheese Dip, and a bowl of tomato basil soup. The former consisted of four soft and hot pretzel sticks with the dip and a side of delicious honey mustard sauce. There was plenty of dip available even after the pretzels were devoured. The soup was also delicious and highly recommended.
The main entrees were pretty good. The 4-cheese Mac and Cheese with honey pepper chicken strips was adequate, but somewhat bland. I had to really mix up the pasta, as all the cheese sauce rested at the very bottom, and I didn't even taste the pepper flavor on the strips, which had more batter than chicken. Once the pasta was tossed, cheese sauce was more pronounced and saved the meal otherwise.
The Oriental Grilled Chicken salad was decent, but unlike the pasta, was a tad salty. Strawberries were added, which fortunately offset the saltines, and again, turned out to be adequate. If there were a 3½ star rating, I would have chosen that.
Overall, the meal was decent, but some improvements could be made. We didn't regret our dining choice, but with a lot of competing restaurants in the immediate area, we probably won't visit again for a while.
Applebees’s never disappoints.
Great selection of menu items, drinks and desserts.
The service is always excellent and the staff is always friendly.
Extremely good service for being short staffed. Gillian was great. She was friendly and fast.
The manager here tonight was great. He knew they only has 2 servers and had some people wait before they were seated which was awesome. A manager that knew the ability of his wait staff. He was also serving tables as well.
This manager definately knows how to run this place.
Its very seldom that I see managers seat only what they can handle. By doing so the customer experience was great.
Saturday lunch at Applebee's and Chicken Wonton Tacos suggested by our server Daykwon made it perfect!
Sirloin steak was overcooked. Looked like pot roast when cut up. (I have Pictures) I requested pink center.
Waitress was annoying, she was actually bothersome. We just wanted to eat and leave. Strawberry Lemonade tasted like sugar water.
Wish I could give a zero, there was barely anyone else in the restaurant. We got the all you can eat wings, and it took them 40 minutes to get us our second order. When it came out it was 5 wings and our server disappeared so we couldn’t even get another order. Why offer all you can eat if that’s how you are going to act?
