32 minutes to get a drink. Appetizer took 37 min came out at the same time as the entrees. Thats how the tomato and onion came on my burger that needed to eaten with a fork and knife. I don’t expect a lot out of Applebees but it was trash.
The bartender was an absolute Angel! LOVED HER! I wasn't feeling very well and asked for mozzarella sticks and she was so sweet and just made me feel a lot better by her attitude. I'm new to the area and I just want to make sure to say THANK YOU to her, I didn't get her name but she was working last night around 7pm. THANK YOU DOLL!! I'll be in again soon!
My wife and I have eaten here twice in the last 2 weeks. The food is excellent. I ordered burgers both times, as recommended by my waiter, and they were outstanding. The deal they have on wings right now is great, and the wings are actually very good. Having said that, we went back because of the outstanding service of our waiter Scott. The second time we ate there, we requested to be seated in his section specifically, he was that awesome. Extremely polite, personable, knowledgeable of the menu, attentive, quick and fun. Highly recommend this restaurant and hope to see Scott again!
Overall this place is pretty good. The drinks are a little diluted. On this visit Chris was our server. He was ok not very attentive and often forgot some of our requests. It was busy for a Sunday evening so I'm taking that into consideration.
New visit - carry out:
So when placing a to go order please check your food before leaving. I ordered the fiesta lime chicken. It was not made the usual way with tortilla strips, pico and lime wedge all of that was missing. It was literally cheese covered chicken and rice. I also ordered the strawberry salad. As you can see in the picture there were absolutely no strawberries in it. When I called to bring it to the attention that the kitchen lacked attention to detail on this order I was placed on hold for an extended about of time. I won't be visiting again anytime soon.
I’ve been in the restaurant industry for 26 years and this is the first time I’ve felt the need to post a review. We waited 26 minutes for 2 martini’s and over 30 minutes for spinach dip that was cold upon arrival. The app came out with the entrees which is not what we wanted ideally. I bartend/serve/manage so I understand it gets busy and things happen. I also get that it’s Applebee’s so it’s somewhat expected. I’ve just never waited so long for a drink/app(that they just microwave) in my life! I would advise you stay away from this location.
The food is fine if you are actually able to get what you ordered (may take three attempts) and if the staff actually brings silverware, or drinks, or even your food for that matter…
Some of the WORST service I’ve experienced in YEARS.
To their credit the manager came by to help get things straight and provide a discounted bill for the trouble, but that’s little to make up for the poor regular staff and the fact that said staff was even caught talking poorly of our table after we brought up the issues.
Acceptable food, and management that properly handles issues, even if those issues should never have came up to begin with.
Would be willing to recommend but only if they were to replace their regular wait staff
Went here on Friday Dec 6 at 3 pm. Right off the bat our server had an attitude. We told him to give us a minute to order our drinks and then it took awhile for him to come back. We (2 people) ordered a burger and fries. Waited about 35-40 minutes on our food and not once did he come back to check on us. People that came in several minutes after us got their food in a matter of minutes. We got up and left. This man needs to get another job !! They weren't even busy! Not a good way to run a business! Will never go back!!!
First off I like Applebee's but this one was horrible ????. Table of 5 the hostess just grabs a lot of silverware that's by the front door of everybody going in & out. Takes us to our Table and just sits everything down and walks away. No waiting for us to be seated or handing us the menu's. Our waitress she was nice that's why you have 2 stars. The Fiesta chicken is what I order. The rice was dry and the chicken was extremely salty. After one bite I sent it all back. I have had this dish b4 but this was like eating dry paper with a side of salt. I just ordered a burger after that. But my burger didn't come until after everyone else was done eating. Just really bad service. Don't go to the Applebee's in New Bern, NC. Our actual waitress was on point & I left her a nice tip because she tried.
