I went in to have a salad at 2:30 in the afternoon. There were 2 tables of four, 3 tables of two, a few at the bar and myself. Not crowded at all. Two waiters. After sitting for approx 7 min. The waiter rushes by and says he'll be right with me. Comes by 5 min later with a menu. Zips away. Maybe another 7 or 8 minutes later comes back to take my order. He brings my iced water and leaves. BTW, he didn't apologize at all for his poor service. I said I hoped my food would be faster than the service. He said it would be, but no apology. I'm not paying attention to the other tables. Out comes food at one table of 4. Ok. About 5 minutes later, the other table of 4 gets their meal. I looked over, and the two tables of two didn't have food yet. A woman comes out of the kitchen and tells the one table of two girls that their meals would be coming. Then the other table of two got their meal. After 5 minutes or so, the two girls get their meals served. I didn't hear an apology. I'm the last one in, and I have not been served. It's a salad! I finally got up and walked out. I realized I had been in there for 40 minutes and not served. 12 people in the restaurant! I'm done with that place. I can certainly understand when it's crowded. This was a Tuesday afternoon at 2:30. Really!? And no apologies!

Our masked server was unfortunately not qualified for service work. She had no sense of urgency, no instincts for guest experience, never brought our drinks to the table, forgot our to-go box, and somehow made both mistakes about her and berating herself repeatedly in a bizarre way instead of just taking responsibility, offering to correct, and moving on. Food was slow to come and when it did, my honey pepper chicken tender mac n cheese was watery, and insanely underportioned. Perhaps a 4 oz scoop of pasta, and the 3 chicken tenders on top were more like 3 boneless wings. My brother ordered "some pink" in his burger and received a completely gray patty with essentially a wedge salad on top as the lettuce was huge white chunks of iceberg core. We will never ever come back to the Ithaca Applebee's and it's absolutely apparent why the entire company is struggling.
I'm so glad I can come back and change my review! Our server tonight Reece totally redeemed the Cortland locations previously low star rating. She was upbeat and peppy! Such a rare occurrence these days. She definitely sold me on a blue raspberry lemonade when I would have just ordered water. Her personality is a great asset in her field. Friendly, attentive, and funny. - and our food was hot, fresh, and timely.
The order was not correct. My lime chicken was right and delicious. My wife ordered a casadea should have been fairly simple right. My bad i didn't check the order they gave us a steak and it was rare she couldn't eat it. I shared my lime chicken n rice and gave the steak to our beagles Oscar and Eli. We aren't upset we understand the labor pool is rather shallow these days. At some point we will be back to give you another opportunity. Thank you
We enjoyed the food and service.
Resturant was freezing cold (NO HEAT)- order wasn't correct not once but twice, waiter never even asked if we would like to go boxes just expecting us to throw our leftovers away. Food was cold 5 minutes after hitting the table. Not an enjoyable dining out expirence.
Hot honey glazed wings are incredible and chicken tortilla soup is nice and spicy. Along with great service from Noah
