My mom and I went twice this week to the Applebee's on Union Avenue. Both times we were seated immediately. The service was excellent and the staff was very friendly. On the second visit, there was an unnerving incident. I'm guessing it was an ex employee or a customer who was very displeased. Thankfully, we had just finished our meal and we were waiting on dessert. A dude walked along the back of the restaurant and cleared a few tables with his arm, then walked along the back side of the bar and seemed to knock the bar glasses in the floor with a swift arm. It was loud and scary. He looked angry, too say the least. At that point, most of the restaurant cleared out. It wasn't clear what the guys problem was, just that he DEFINITELY had one. I didn't see anything about it on the local news, Thank God, so I'm guessing his breaking the dishes satisfied his anger. -> back to the visit... out first visit was Tuesday. We started off with their crispy chicken wonton tacos. These were absolutely delicious! The flavors alongside the extremely crispy wonton shells were the best thing I've had from Applebee's, ever! My mom had a southwestern shrimp bowl and I had the bourbon street chicken and shrimp. She liked her dish, I loved mine. We enjoyed the Crispy Wonton chicken tacos SO MUCH, we came back on Thursday just to Gabe them again! They also serve excellent margaritas. If it weren't for the crazy dude (and they're everywhere in this city, unfortunately) they would've gotten 5 stars on the atmosphere as well. We will definitely go for the tacos.... soon!
WORST SERVICE EVER! There was 2 cars in the parking lot when we pulled up at 12:30 for lunch. There were 3 people inside. Two people were standing up and one sitting. No one acknowledged us at all. One of the people that was standing was a customer who walked out when we did with a receipt. The person sitting had on the same uniform shirt that the person standing had on. After standing and being ignored for 10 minutes we decided to take our money for lunch to another establishment that would appreciate a customer.
The behavior display is usually reserved for times when there is a full house and actually can't be helped because there are limits that people can and cant do.
I am totally disappointed.
The service at this establishment was disappointing, and unfortunately, the food did not meet my expectations. I had hoped to enjoy a pleasant dining experience, but the service significantly impacted my mood. I waited approximately 15 minutes before anyone attended to me to take my drink order, and when the server finally did, she began walking away before I had finished speaking. This level of inattentiveness continued throughout my meal. While I was tempted to leave, I chose to stay and complete my meal.
I ordered chicken Alfredo and the broccoli had brown stuff in the middle. They already gave me oily noodles and no sauce for real.
Our first time to an Applebee's. You have to try the whole American experience right?
We were greeted and walked to our table and to our disbelief we were given plastic cutlery... is this normal?
So we ordered steak and thought surely they'll bring out real cutlery right? No!
We sawed through our steak with the terrible plastic ware. The steak was fine, but really? Our side dish of garlic beans was frozen beans.
Our friends ordered their food and one of them received the wrong dish. She didn't get her correct food until we had all finished ours.
The server attitude was very rude. She really didn’t care about our table. Then when we asked for a stary drink she brought out some drinks that don’t taste right but hasn’t came back and check on us yet. I told her that my chicken was hard she went and the the manager he came out with a whole attitude saying that the chicken is boneless but you not bout to sit here and tell me these are fresh the first one is what I was brought out first the 2nd picture is what he brought me out after I complained. I’m never eating here again
My recent dining experience at Applebee's was disappointing due to poor service. Initially, they forgot to provide utensils and later offered plastic ones. The food's quality wasn't up to par, portions were smaller than expected, and they even forgot to bring out a salad. Overall, the combination of subpar service and disappointing meal left much to be desired.
We walked in and the hostess told us it was a 45 min wait. We asked her to add us to the list, she said we don't have a list. My brother asked how will you know to sit next if there's multiple parties. She said again we don't have a list. If you don't want to se4ve people after 9 pm on a Saturday night, you should close instead of telling people it's a long wait in hopes of them leaving. We won't be back.
