This is the best Applebee's in Philly, I only go to this one because I love the energy from the employees and the chef always makes my food correctly. Shaun P worked for his birthday and his energy and vibe were amazing, he didn't even seem to be fazed that he was working on his birthday. Very great place, also the hostess was very kind and informative. The $1 zombie was pretty good as well.
It is an average restaurant that seems a little bit over priced, service is ok, but they're not enough, so it is a bit slow. If you order food based on their pictures, be ready to get disappointed, because it will not be the same, the cleanest isn't the best, the table was sticky, they have free parking, and a security guy at door.
This place is nice. However, the manager or owner is very unprofessional and rude. I ordered pretzel sticks one time, and they weren't cooked all the way. I informed her, and she stated they were cooked on a timer as if my complaint was invalid. I opened the pretzel to show her the raw dough and asked her to just inform the kitchen to cook them a little longer. I didn't want anything for free and still paid for them and purchased a different appetizer.
No apology, and a very nonchalant attitude wasn't what I expected from a leader/manager.
Another time I visited this location, I ordered a top shelf long island, and there was something floating in my drink. The bartender was very apologetic and called the manager/owner to inform her who it was made for and she responded "who her" referencing me and made a gesture of some sort that made one of the employees seating next to me at the bar laugh a bit. As a manager myself, this type of energy and behavior from a person in a leadership position isn't a positive image for the business as a whole. It's now comes as no surprise why it's okay for her subordinates to be able to use profanity in front of customers and hang in the dining area or bar like it is a social spot or visibly be seen on cellphones and have to be called a few times to get their attention. Unfortunately, this will be my last visit here. It's okay to be a cool boss, but it is never okay to make customers feel unhear, unseen, and unappreciated. Used to be an alright place to get something tasty and on Budget. However as of now this place has lost it's charm. Not only is the food below standard, the service is pretty much sad and dragging. From the host(ess), servers to staff in the kitchen. It was like watching the walking dead.. but in a restaurant. No joy, no enthusiasm, no effort to enhance the experience. The appetizers come first.. they're supposed to all be hot.. not at Applebee's. You're lucky If your food comes at a correct temperature at all! We ordered the sampler appetizer. It came complete with frozen celery for boneless wings. FUN! The spinach and artichoke dip was ok.. until I pulled a long hair out of my mouth. Super FUN right?! Surprises in my food!!! We order some frozen alcohol drinks.. tasted like a regular slushy.. Because why not waste $10 on a drink that taste like there's no alcohol. Finally we tried out the "lots o bacon burgers". I can tell you right now there's barely bacon. Same amount on regular bacon burgers. It wasn't an experience I'd like to repeat. None of it.
Our Bartender Elida was the best. She was friendly, courteous and welcoming. We sat at the bar and she made us feel at home. Food came out delicious and fast. Drinks were done just right and did not have to wait long for refills. Can't wait till next Friday night for date night.
I stopped into the Applebee's from the hotel next door. The food was great and the service was excellent. Gretchen was my waitress. The Manager, Kevin, was very engaged with the customers and his team. You can tell that this Applebee's creates a great experience for their customers.
Kia was amazing!! I was with my friends and didn’t have money to get myself food so when I told her I wasn’t going to get anything, she asked me why and when I told her she didn’t accept it and gave me the menu back because she wanted to make sure I was fed. She paid for my meal and I will forever be grateful. She is so so sweet and Applebees is lucky to have her.
We came here for dinner and everything was so good. We had a great waitress. She was very efficient and explained all their deals to us and everything we ordered came out the way we all wanted it. They had 50 cents boneless wings that we all added to our orders which is a great deal. My daughter was in her glory because that is her favorite from applebees. Me and my son both had steak and they both were cooked perfectly as we wanted them. My mom had the riblets and they were really tender and fell right off the bone. We had a really nice dinner. I highly recommend their boneless wings. All of their sauces are so good.
