Back to back Husker vs Wisconsin wins today, a good meal from Applebee's during happy hour!?! Awesome
We walked in to be seated. And we had to wait 10 minutes before we got seated. Three different waiters walk past us. Finally after 10 minutes a young man come and took us to our seats. After 20 minutes somebody came and took our drink orders and appetizer order and decided to take our menu order all at the same time. We waited an hour and a half for our food to get to our table. We had ordered a meal to go. And that meal to go was ready before our meals were ready. We spoke to the manager. The manager said the reason why our meal was late was because one of the stakes was overcooked. I've worked as a manager in restaurants before and I think I would have done the overcooked steak as the to-go order. Because all our steaks were ordered the same medium. I've never been so disappointed in a place in my whole life. There was four of us. Two of which were handicapped people. There were two or three other tables that got served before us and they walked in after us. I guarantee you I probably will never eat at that apples bees again Kearney Nebraska. We then had to take our meals to go, because my cousin lives in Kansas and had to get her husband home to take his meds. This restaurant is even lucky I'm giving them one star on everything. In my opinion they don't deserve any stars. And the place stunk and had dirty floors when we went to the bathrooms. And the bathrooms were also filthy.
Have always loved Applebee’s, always been my families go to for great food and great service! Unfortunately today that all changed, my family met there today to celebrate a birthday and it was a nightmare from the beginning. We arrived about 1:30 pm got our seats for a party of ten, ordered our appetizers and drinks. We waited over 45 minutes for our drinks and appetizers to arrive, mind you there was maybe 5 or 6 other small tables of people dining at this time, ordered our food and began the wait for almost an hour for food to arrive after we asked when our food would be ready. We were told that there were two new cooks in the kitchen and they would have our food out shortly! Finally our food arrived 4 of the 10 entrees were wrong, cooked wrong, or blamed on just bad product! Steaks that were suppose to be medium rare were very well done, plain hamburger came out as a cheese burger with everything on it the first time sent it back and got a hamburger with everything on it not plain, and onion rings that were filled with uncooked batter! We waited over 20 minutes for a glass of water that we ended up just walking to the bar to get refilled. We complained and told the manager that this is un except able and I told her we were not going to pay for this food or service, the manager agreed with me by answering me with “yeah” and she walked away, we gathered our belongings and made our way out the door, never got a bill, never got stopped from leaving, nothing. Then they called the cops on us. I have worked in the food industry and understand how things work and this was the most unbelievable experience I have ever had in a restaurant in my life! I have never asked for a meal to be comped because of poor food or service. I’m sorry but with prices of things being as high as they are, the least you can do is give me good service!
Actually, a rating of 1 star is too high from our experience tonight (Dec 2). Buffalo wings were absolutely gross! The remainder of our food was substandard at best. The service SUCKED big time. For dessert, one of our party ordered a brownie with ice cream: brownie was a sliver & stale. The ice cream was not even a full scoop & was half melted. Contacting corporate to complain about this Applebees. Highly recommend you avoid this establishment.
We came in a few minutes after 3 on a thursday, had to stand and wait a while for someone to seat us even tho the restaurant was three fourth empty. Then, after we got our food, we sat and waited and waited for our waitress to stop by our table so we could get boxes and pay. A couple that came in AFTER us left before us before our waitress ever stopped to take our payment because their waitress was actually paying attention to them. Our waitress was too busy talking with a couple at the bar that came in AFTER us. There were 4 workers standing around the bar and we sat and waited for nearly a half hour for nothing except the fact that they weren't paying attention. At Texas roadhouse, our waitress is constantly stopping by our table even tho she has waaay more tables to service than just 2. I would not have cared if they would've been busy because that would've been understandable, but like I said, they were nowhere near busy. We probably won't be coming back because of this. To note, it was our waitress that was like this, idk how the others were. Even after she stopped to get our pay and give us boxes, we again had to wait on her for way longer then needed considering how they were not busy AT ALL. It was almost like she had to make the boxes before she could bring them and design the cash register before she could take our pay. Needless to say, we didn't stack our plates or leave a tip, like we do for waitresses who notice we exist.
They were near empty when we went in yet they still made us wait for 10 mins to sit. We were a group of 8 they refused to put tables together for us and instead wanted us to all fit in the round booth, they finally let 2 of our guests move to the booth beside us which made it hard to enjoy a dinner with our friends. A water got spilled we had to clean it up and go to the kitchen to even get a towel to clean it ad that was where all the staff were hanging out. Food came out for some but not others. Whole dinning experience was not family friendly. The local people that we were visiting warned us about all these things before we went, but still wanted to try them.
We went out as an office for a coworkers birthday. Told the manager who seated us that it was a 60th birthday we were celebrating. The Manager Charlee took our orders and came back with all waters because pop machine down. Said they had lemonades and I got a lemonade but no discount for that inconvenience and lemonades have no refills.
We waited over 45 mins for our food when two other tables got their food and they came in after us. Multiple waitresses and the manager walked by and never said anything to our table. We finally said something to the first waitress and they brought out our food and said that the order got pushed back behind others in the kitchen.
One persons order was wrong so had to wait even longer to have that fixed. My chicken bacon ranch sandwich the bun was hard as a rock like it sat under the heat lamp the whole time.
We asked another waitress for our tickets because we had a limited hour for lunch and the manager Charlee walked by and said they were short staffed but didn’t apologize or anything. We asked if we would get a discount or something for the long wait and she said she would let the waitress know.
The waitress came back and we said there isn’t a discount on the ticket and she so rudely said the manager said she was calling someone but she had already checked out the tickets. We looked over and the manager wasn’t on the phone
No apologies or anything. I have worked in many server positions and I know that you can’t control the kitchen or how the food is cooked but the rudeness when you’re short staffed is not necessary. Customers are a lot more understanding when you apologize for everything.
Let’s just say the experience wasn’t the greatest and if I could give ZERO stars I would!
