I had a great time sitting at the bar for the 2nd time in my LIFE chatting it up with Megan S. She was personable and very attentive during my lunch time visit (while rotating her regulars).
I had the boneless wings w/ garlic parmesan and the chicken wonton tacos, both were delicious. Definitely recommend 1/2 price appetizers at the bar with Megan.
The staff here that served us was amazing she took our order and got everything correct. The food was served hot and it tasted amazing. Now the bathroom on the other hand was not in good standing the women's or men since my boyfriend said someone did no #2 and it was left on top of the toilet not good. The new bacon ranch chicken sandwich with fries was very good.
I love Applebee's. I will start with this statement. However, on this particular day, we visited the Tri City location prior to taking a ride to look at Christmas lights. We weren't in a rush, so we walked in, and there was no host/hostess to greet us. We waited a few minutes and then we asked the bartender, who said just take a seat and I'll bring you a menu. She didn't. Then the hostess shows up out of nowhere and starts seating people. She made direct eye contact with me but made no attempt to address us. Finally, I made a comment about people being seated and my friend and stood at the hostess area. She politely explained to the people waiting on line what happened and she wanted to talk to the hostess and they understood. We finally got menus and she apologized, explained she was the only one working. She only checked on us once and never gave us her name. Naybe it a bad day to go and I will try again, but if I have another service like this I will not return.
We went on Veteran's Day. My husband got a free meal, which was really nice for all the Veteran's. They were busy, but did pretty darn good taking care of everyone and our server was just as nice as she could be. Our food was hot and tasted good. They were also giving the Veteran's a $5.00 coupon for their next visit.
The service at this Applebees was horrible! We walked in and had to wait 5 min to be seated. Who knows what they were doing. Then we ordered and the waitress became the bartender and someone else had to bring the food. When i asked for mustard and ketchup I was told that he would tell our waitress … what a fiasco! No management at all. And while all this was going on a girl sat in a booth by the bar playing with her iPad. I assume she was some kind of management because she didn’t do anything! Worst Applebees I’ve ever been in!!!!!!!!
This group of older women sat behind my sister and was loudly dragging her niece through the mud. It dampened the mood. Luckily I was almost finished with my meal so I didn't really say anything to the server about it . But I thought maybe the server of all people would go to that table and ask them to quiet down which she did not
Ernesto was awesome. Bartender needs to not overpower. I sent my drink back bc is was so strong. Then I heard them say, " let's just add some more sour mix". Ah no, please remake it. They did, still must of had 3 ounces of whisky. One of the oldest drinks, no orange or cherry. Can you tell I used to bartend and teach it? She is giving away the house. 2nd drink was as strong as the first. SMH.
Do yourself a favor and don’t eat at this specific Apple Bees. This is the worst one in Pinellas. I’ve given it 3 chances within the past year and all have been disappointing. The staff hide in the kitchen, don’t clean tables and definitely never take the dirty ones off the table. This time all 6 of us had food that look as if it was sitting in the kitchen for days. We won’t be back here till they get new management and employees that actually enjoy their job and do it to the fullest.
