This was a 4.5 out of 5 visit. My first visit to this Applebee's was very good. The staff were wonderful, even on a busy Veterans day. The food was very good, though my compadre thought her steak was too done. Otherwise, everything tasted good, seemed fresh and was relatively well priced. The place is clean as well.

We set at the bar and had to eat with dirty dishes on the bar beside us. Bar tender was slow unpolite and sucked. Joe suma we miss you! Bartender sitting at the table looking at her phone dished still not cleaned up. They suck whoever is managing this place should be fired
Every time I travel to the East Coast this is my must stop destination on my way to Virginia Beach.
The atmosphere, the employees,the food, is my reason for stopping. My mother loves Applebee's and we don't eat at the one back home because we don't get the kind of service.

I left because the restaurant was pretty much empty, and my greater said it would be 20 minutes to be seated .... so I said I'll set in the bar if that's ok, she said, sure. I was seated in the bar along with about 6 others that were already there. I sat there for about 15 minutes, and they never came to take my order. So I left....
I just want to say from the moment I walked in the door up until I finished my meal the service was fantastic. Dallas the manager was very involved with every table and employee there, personable and seemed to know all the guests. She didn’t mind jumping in and helping clean the tables and just overall doing a little of everything. The staff was all friendly and helpful and the demeanors were exactly what you would hope for when wanting to feel like you belong somewhere. I have been in a few times over the past few years and recently I’ve been seeing all new faces but it maintains getting cleaner and overall better. I’ve been to a few Applebees around Virginia and this one so far tops cleanliness and friendliness. The staff seem to love their jobs the kitchen seems to take a lot of pride in their food seeing as everything was hot fresh and fast and I think it just needs to be talked about more when it becomes obvious that people enjoy what they do for a living. I will definitely be back and choose this spot as my favorite location. I don’t remember my servers name unfortunately but she has Brown hair and I just hope this message reaches you guys in good spirits to let you know what you have offered me today is more appreciated than you will ever know. Way to go!
We came on Sunday, and we were greeted and seated promptly. We order drinks, and when the waitress came back she told us they were out of them. That happened again two times. Only a select couple of beers were available. We ordered food, and were told they were out of ranch. One of us ordered a chicken sandwich that came with a ranch spread, which we were told was still an option. We asked for some of the spread with our wings, and that never came. When they brought out the chicken sandwich, it came out as just a fried chicken breast on a bun with two pickles. No spread. We weren't told there was no spread until the sandwich came out. One of us also received an incorrect order, as they duplicated one, and it had to be sent back. It was a terrible experience.
I sure wish there was a rating lower than 1 star. Visited the restaurant on Sunday September 22, 2024. I actually drove out of my way into VA to eat there because my children requested Applebee's. That was a huge mistake. Walked in and was seated at a booth at 8:03 pm. Finally my family got fed up and walked out at 8:30 pm after sitting at the booth for over 25 minutes and not a single server came over to us. Man, they must have been busy? Nope, there were 4 occupied tables, one person at a high top at the bar, and 3 guys at the bar. Funny enough the 1 of the 4 occupied tables had 3 waitresses and the hostess at it just sitting there talking, with only one waitress getting up to serve the table directly next to us multiple times without ever acknowledging my family's table. It still pisses me off that these sorry people made a family with 2 younger kids and a baby under one sit there for that long, especially being almost all other restaurants in the area close their dining rooms at 9, we were traveling 5 hours and just wanted to sit down and have a meal.
Then as we leave a group of about 20 people walk in, seated immediately and within minutes, literally the time it took us to walk out to our vehicle, one of the waitresses that was sitting at a booth was at the tables. I'm just glad my kids were there to keep me from acting a fool and causing a scene. I drove 30 minutes out of my way on a 5 hour trip to eat there and they couldn't even give a simple acknowledgement to our table in a 25 minute time frame in a restaurant that was damn near empty, no wonder Applebee's is doing so poorly these days. If you can't hire any better people than that just close the crappy place. At least the Bojangles just down the road had a few very good people working for them, and by the Bojangles employees comments they know the reputation of that Applebee's all too well. Honestly I wasn't going to leave the review but screw it, here it is.
Food was tossed on the plate, cheese from the mozzarella sticks was completely out and bunched together. The fries for the tenders was ice cold amd the tenders were dry. We never got silverware and our napkins were brought out when we were leaving. They had one server working the whole place, I feel bad for her. They really need to shut down and try again because this was horrible. My boyfriend's fries were nice and hot but mine were very old. Smh do better
