Nice reasonably priced restaurant in Alameda next to Trader Joe's in the south Shore shopping complex.
Based on recent experience , the food is actually well prepared here and tastes surprisingly good. We selected the from $28 package and got the fiesta lime chicken and a 6 ounce sirloin along with onion rings as the appetizer selection. The onion rings were great, crispy crunchy even when cold and not greasy. The fiesta lime chicken was grilled just right and wasn't dry. Taste wise, every thing was good. Nothing fancy or weird, just straightforward and good.
Clientele is diverse, and the atmosphere is relaxed. Familes, multi-generational families,friends, and couples come here for an inexpensive meal or a beer and snacks. The background music is easy on the ears and lends well to conversation.
Service is polite and friendly
Park near the Kohls department store to avoid the mess in front of Safeway.
If you're looking for a nice place to grab a nice meal without breaking your budget, Applebee's in Alameda is a solid choice
We're from Kauai, Hawaii and we don't have an Applebee's so we try to come here whenever we visit the mainland. The food is always good and tonight's service was exceptional.

First time Customer and this is a nice Place. Very Clean and Great Customer Service. The Waiter was had nice Attitude even though waiting on a lot of Table's. Great food and service. Shout out to my Servicer 'Jose'.
Our server Kevin was so sweet and accommodating. Food was decent, expected of an applebees. My table used coupons and Kevin fought tooth and nail to allow us to use more than one which was very kind of him. Music was a bit loud at times.
I came in this past Sunday, the food was good but the service was even better! Our server Rodrigo made sure we were attended well and got our food quick.
I just ordered the bourbon steak. Asked for it medium. This is beyond well done. Tastes like rubber. Won't be coming here again. Two is just me being nice on food. Going to try to save this steak somehow ????????♂️nope just took a bite. It's rough. Teach your cooks to know meat

We really can't say enough good things about our server, Gean. His friendly attitude, prompt attention, and personable demeanor made what would otherwise be "just another night out" into a memorable evening. He was sunny without being annoying, sweet without being cloying, and earnest without being overbearing. Gean is a credit to the establishment, and we're quite sure he will be successful in all his future endeavors; catch him now before he moves on to what will surely be bigger and better things.
