The only reason this review is getting 1 star is because that’s the lowest this goes.
I was served old greasy chips with my dip. We waited for the server to round to ask for new ones. When the server came back he brought my husbands food first and told me mine would be ready shortly. I stared at my husbands food over the greasy chips while we waited 7 minutes (yes we timed it) for my food. When the server returned with our replacement chips and my burger I apparently had entirely to high expectations because the burger was cold and soggy, it apparently sat while my fries were made. My husbands chicken was now not only cold but when he went to cut his food is was so tough the table shook and burnt on the bottom. I know I shouldn’t expect much for the price but it would have been nice to have edible food. Thank gosh there was a pick 6 yesterday and we were able to get wings as well … only they charged us for them when they were advertised as free. Of course we waited to ask the server why but after 10 minutes we just wanted to go home! Definitely will stick to our usual restaurants moving forward instead of trying to save a few bucks.
our server was so nice and friendly! the food in general tbh has never been good at any location i just came for the drink special for the $1 margs and the $10 buckets! will return for just that cause it’s a good deal if you have plans to pregame!
Update Nov 2024:
Visited again this week and the food was delicious! We got the new ranch bacon chicken sandwich and chicken broccoli alfredo pasta and both were good! They have lots of new menu items and we were impressed with the service again too. Good job Applebees! ❤️????????
2022:
This Applebees definitely impressed us! We ordered the spinach artichoke appetizer, the Bourbon chicken and the sirloin steak and all of it was delicious! The service is what really stood out though. Our server was super fast, attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. Wish I could remember his name ???? but he’s there weekdays during happy hour he said lol Overall it was really good though and their new menu looks great so we’ll be back to try more soon!
ordered an 8oz steak museum rare and the first time it came out it was more than well done and the second time it came out it wasn’t cooked enough
Went to watch the game on Monday night, and the bartender clearly did not want to be there. Asked what we wanted to drink before we were fully sat down or had menus. Never offered more drinks, we had to flag her down for every request. Then finally when it came time to close out, her as well as 3 other employees were standing in a circle at the front door talking. Not a single person was behind the bar or on the floor, they were all standing there talking.
I recently had the unfortunate experience of dining at Applebee's located in Laveen, and I must say it was an absolute disaster. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by a nauseating smell of mildew, which should have been a clear sign to turn around and leave. But alas, we decided to give it a chance.
The wait for a table was excruciatingly long, even though there were only a few people present. Finally, when we were seated, we immediately noticed the sticky table and wobbly chairs, which made for an uncomfortable experience. In fact, the chairs were so unstable that I half-expected to feel motion sickness while eating. It was a bit comical, if anything.
When the server finally arrived at our table, we wasted no time in ordering, as we were famished. We ordered two entrees and an appetizer, eagerly awaiting our food. However, the wait for our meals was agonizingly long, to say the least. We couldn't help but notice that a table of six or more people who arrived after us received their food before us. A solid 15-20 minutes had passed since we were seated, which was quite frustrating.
Unfortunately, when our food finally arrived, there was no sight of the appetizer we had ordered. We informed our server, who apologized and assured us that it would be brought to us promptly. But by that point, it was just another disappointment in this train wreck of a meal.
My steak, the main course I had been eagerly anticipating, was nothing short of a disappointment. It was incredibly tough, and attempting to cut the meat felt like a workout that left my wrists sore. To make matters worse, the accompanying mushrooms tasted like a damp, musty rag. It was a complete letdown.
Midway through this disastrous meal, the appetizers finally made an appearance, but it was too little, too late. The artichoke dip was passable, but the chips were stale and had the unmistakable flavor of being left out for days. It was yet another indication that the quality of the food and service in this establishment was far from satisfactory.
There is simply no saving grace for Applebee's in Laveen. I strongly advise avoiding this place unless, of course, you have a desire to punish your loved ones. The combination of a foul smell, lengthy waits, sticky tables, wobbly chairs, underwhelming food, and stale appetizers made for an extremely unpleasant experience. Save yourself the trouble and seek dining options elsewhere.
We love our neighborhood Applebee's! Service is great, food is just as expected.
My complaint: the sink behind the bar is clearly backed up and stinks like rotten garbage. We sat at the bar and it smelled foul every time the bartender cleaned his glassware.
Send a plumber out to clean out the drains and lines, please ????
We were there Saturday for my daughter's name change party. Everything was awesome. Our server Rae and the other servers that helped her were amazing. The food was great and nobody minded that we were creating a ruckus!!! This is our new go-to party location.
