Update: I decided to come back and try the dollaritas which was amazing!! This time I shared the sampler, had some pretzels, and the brownie bite for dessert. I had the absolute BEST waiter ever and his name was Curtis! He was truly amazing and made this experience much more enjoyable! He has such an amazing personality and provided such a great dining experience for me and my entire party!
It's been so long since I've been to an Applebee's but I decided to try it tonight. I was very impressed with the food and service here. The young lady who served us was extremely polite, helpful with providing information for menu items that I requested, and was very quick. She constantly checked up on us to make sure we were good and I appreciated it! I had the blackened salmon with mashed potatoes, and garlic greens. The food was very flavorful and I loved it! Great positions l portion sizes for a reasonable price! I was too full for dessert. Overall, I had a great experience!
Let me start off that the service is usually pretty good here.
Thursday, however, it was NOT. I ordered the Oriental Chicken salad and asked for the dressing be put on the side. I do this because they alway put all of it in the middle and it is too strong at the bottom.
My two friends asked for 2 half sandwiches. They had a 2-for menu item. So, they picked 2 half sandwiched. One for each, obviously.
They brought mine out with the sald dressing already on the salad. They brought the 2 half sandwiches on one plate. I asked for another plate. We waited and waited. We then saw the waitress who we told to get another plate come out on the other side of the restaurant chatting with someone over there. Our waitress finally came out and we asked for another plate. By this time, They were almost done with their sandwiches. Also, I arrived a little later than them. They asked for 3 drinks. But, only 2 sets of utensils and napkins came out. We asked for that with the plate, as well.
It took a long time to get this resolved. It's not like it was crowded. There were 3-4 other tables filled, only.
As a waitress or waiter, if you're going to have someone else bring out the food which you took the order for, make sure they do it right! It's YOUR tip that is being sacrificed.
The service was excellent, we ate at the bar. The general manager working thst evening was very friendly and she mad some good drinks. I had Tequila sunrise and my husband had a mango margarita. The food was pretty good just wish the shrimp were bigger. We both had the chicken and shrimp with mash potatoes. Had to order bread sticks because it didn't come with the meal. The bread sticks were really good. If you go to Applebees go to the Kempsville Rd location because their service was great.
We walked in at 230pm on a Saturday for a late lunch. I saw 3 customer tables and a guy at the bar. Also, an employee at the terminal on the end of the bar. We stood there for about 3-4 mins with no acknowledgment from anybody. As I looked around, I noticed a huge upside down cockroach laying right in front of me on the tile floor! It's the first thing you see when you walk into the place. Not cool! Everybody knows " bugs " are a by product of restaurants. If you think anything else, you are kidding yourself. Come on Applebee's, step up your game. There is no excuse for such a thing.
The food was okay, I ordered a burger and fries. My fries were cold and the burger was okay, it could use some seasoning. My man and my aunt ordered the ribs and said the ribs were dry but the bbq sauce was good! My man also ordered a side of coleslaw and said it was not good at all. Also, the waiter was okay.
This Apple Bees is disgusting the wonton tacos are always burnt and the boneless wings are hard and dry as crap. Every time I come here I am disappointed. They know the food is bad but refused to fix it. It's not worth the money especially $55 dollars. Poor management and poor staff. Ooh and also how do not clean celery sticks ????????
Amazing waitress. We both got the new skillet meals. I got a drink drink a soda with alcohol in it and it was good. Our waitress was amazing. Forgot her name. She had light green hair. Super nice..food was good
This is by far the worst meal I have had at Applebee's. We don't go there often but have always had good experiences and enjoyed the food. This time was terrible. The table behind us was on a video call nearly the entire time we were there. Then another table was loudly watching TV on their phone. Now the food. I got the all you can eat for $16.99. The chicken nuggets were cold, dry and hard with the sauce dried on. The riblets were not much better and I gave up and didn't want to wait another 15 minutes to try the shrimp. The waiter was nice and kept our drinks filled. My wife and son enjoyed their 2 for $26 meals much more than I did. I came home and made a snack. Could probably find a better meal for less than the $55 + 16 tip.
