Today we were suppose to go to Golden Corral. GC was so popular the line was out the door. Not wanting to go into a over crowded buffet we voted to patronize Apple Bees down the street. We were seated immediately and was eating in 20 minutes. This was perfect for our party of 10. Ribs, burgers, chicken tenders were on point. Family atmosphere and quiet. Ended up being the best decision of the day.
Just had a late lunch at Applebees in Stockbridge, Hwy 138. I ordered the riblet basket…haven’t had it in a while and it’s sad. The riblets are sooo thin. They were tender and the sauce is good but you get half the food for double the price. I then ordered a perfect patron margarita. The girl did not tell me that they were out of shakers and made a drink w/ice, which is not like the picture I ordered. It was afterwards when I asked that she told me. Service was mediocre.
The food was good especially the ribs my son and I enjoyed. The waitress was friendly and checked on us to make sure we were good.. the atmosphere was kid friendly and clean and well maintained it was absolutely a enjoyable time with my son
Although there's police there on the weekend. Someone broke into two cars causing damage to the windows (pulled them out the frame ) and caused bodily damage (scratches and dings). The food and drinks aren't worth paying your insurance deductible or out of pocket expense. This location isn't safe for patrons.
Reached out to the restaurants area director who offered an apology but no help in repairing my car.. Stating their insurance doesn't cover incidents of this nature. Didn't even offer a discount on my next meal, a free meal or drink. Absolutely nothing in an attempt to offer to make me even partially whole. This wasn't the objective but a gesture of empathy for an incident on your property would've showed more care.
I'm posting this so other patrons are aware. This happened 10/19/24. I parked 3-4 cars away from the police officer, virtually in front of the building across the parking lot, when I arrived and this incident happened between the time he (police officer) departed and the restaurant's closing.
This area is not safe from vandalism. Just imagine someone as brazen as this. If I'd walked out in the middle of his crime. My family would be making this post instead of me. Luckily, no with God's grace he missed the gun I'd tucked away prior to going into the restaurant.
Lastly, criminals are in our midst just waiting to make you a victim. Stay aware.. be safe Clayton County.
EDIT to add response to owner on 10/24/24: I've reached out to Applebee's corporate office who stated the information surrounding this incident would be passed on to the franchise owner. Therefore, I've been contacted with no resolve from the franchise. I've spoken to the "AREA" Director with no resolve. The franchise manager and any other person's I've spoken with have been of no help. The appearance of concern after my review is not resolution and I want the people reading this to know. You all already have my information and the people in my area should be warned!!!! You should instruct your people to reach back out to me with a solution. Not excuses.
This wasn't our best dining experience however I'm a firm believer in focusing on the positives. So let's start on the most severe of the negatives.
I ordered a sweet tea with lemon and unfortunately the tea had that very old taste that it does if the pot has not been cleaned properly or the tea has sat for too long. So I instead just requested an iced water which arrived in a very dirty glass. See pictured.
Unfortunately our appetizer arrived in less than "appetizing" condition. It looked as though it had been taken straight out of the microwave and placed upon the plate. Also pictured.
My young daughter wanted the chicken fingers plate with french fries and in the past I've been able to add a small side of macaroni and cheese however today I was told that I had to order two entrees in order to get the side of macaroni. See pictured. Not really worth $6.49 but the kid enjoyed it all, except the extra dry chicken fingers, so not a major problem.
Unfortunately the shrimp and chicken was also pretty lackluster. Although it arrived to the table sizzling like it had come off the grill shrimp tasted like they also had come out of the microwave.
However there were some positives. My significant other truly enjoyed his burger and fries. Our waitress Laurren, although seemingly quite over worked, was trying her absolute best and delivered our meal in a timely manner.
So unfortunately not the best dining experience it's definitely not the worst.
Will be sure to complete the survey and utilize the $10 off $40 soon.
Michelle behind the bar was absolutely superb. Her friendly attitude and attention to detail made my time at this establishment effortless. Food was prompt and cooked to my liking. I would 10 times out of 10 recommend her as your go to person while eating here.
Akiel was a great server. The food was hot, fresh and good !!! My family enjoyed our time here at Applebee’s.
The pasta was bland. Please put some flavor in the sauce. The chicken taste like it was boiled. As a veteran, I appreciate the free menu. However, the selection needs some improvement. Thanks!
