So I joined their rewards program, got an email for a free appetizer as long as I spend $15. Went in to restaurant and showed the server the coupon. He came back with receipt paper and had me write down the code from the email. We ordered our food, started eating , then the server comes back and says that we need to spend $50 to get the free appetizer and that we haven’t met the limit (we both ordered the new $10 burger meal). We politely showed him the email, he read it then agreed it said $15. We continue eating. Then a manager comes by to explain that the code does not seem to be working and asks for our email, she verifies the code then walks away. We keep eating . Then a few minutes later a different manager comes by and says that our coupon does not work because we ordered the $10 burger meal which is a discounted meal and because the coupon for the free appetizer only works if you buy a meal that is full price. She comps us anyways but lets us know that the meal we picked was already a “discounted” meal.
The $10 meal is advertised to bring people in, as it did us, did not show a regular price then a new price but rather just the $9.95.
Our meal experience was interrupted 3 times with the feel that we were not honest or something, it was embarrassing. We went out on a limb to come to Applebees because years ago their food quality was not good, so trying this burger deal was an olive branch we were willing to try.
Not impressed with the treatment we received, which is a shame because the food quality was actually good.
Decent casual food, good service, reasonable prices. Parking here can be very tricky any time. Pasta was a bit basic, and not as soft as I'd like it. However, the chicken was really good and seasoned great.
I cannot remember his name, but the bar tender was our server and he was amazing. Some of the best costumer service I have had in a long time. He did everything right, no complaints.
I got the burger and it was great. I also got a strawberry lime Daquiri, I believe is what it was, and it was amazing.
We came in for happy hour so got a good deal on drinks and also took advantage of the two meal with appetizer special
I went as they opened. Restaurant was smelling bad. I ordered a medium-well steak. But they brought a steak like turned into a coal.
I’m not a chain restaurant person (or even Applebees normally) but this place is a WIN! Go here and you will not be disappointed. Their food comes out quick and done right, their service is amazing and their prices are comparable to fast food (for real food). This location is quickly becoming my area favorite place to grab dinner.

I almost forget when is the last time I feel so happy about my meal. Probably been a while since red lobster closed at Mira Mesa. Food is great, restaurant is great, service is great. Everything is perfect for happy Friday night!
The food and drinks were excellent. However, the experience was marred by our server Terry behavior. Despite our group collectively tipping over 20%, the server started raising their voice and making a big deal that not everyone individually tipped. This was unprofessional and took away from an otherwise enjoyable dining experience. It’s disappointing when good food and atmosphere are overshadowed by poor service.
