Food was great. The girl that brought our food. Not professional. Her hair was down, everyone else's was up. Did not eat my food, because I found her hair in my food when she brought it to the table. We come every week, but I will never eat the food she brings to our table. You need to make her be professional and put her hair up.
Our server Sean was great! He was very busy but always checked on us and I also witnessed him checking his table and immediately sending something back that wasn’t up to standards. Our food was good as well! The atmosphere was definitely not what I expected though. I noticed a boy in a black flat bill hat and brown hair continually going to the table and standing between these two girls. He would play with one of the girls hair and rub her shoulders, eat off their plates, and they were also playing games on the girls computer. He was also vaping and I saw him blow it in another servers face. He asked a customer,” What do you need?” I also saw him sitting at the table and playing with his phone. He was not the only serve I saw, as I saw other girls that were servers as well. They were also very loud and it made the atmosphere feel more like I was in the middle of a reunion than actually paying to dine somewhere. He also gave them a to-go-box with food in it and told them there were their sides as he threw it down on the table.
The ladies in the bar, the lady with the short blonde ponytail and Sean were busting their butts while that table were just getting louder and louder and not helping.
I have written less than 10 reviews in my life. However, I felt inclined to write this. My partner and I are Australian and earlier this year we travelled extensively throughout the US. We stopped in here in May 2024 and had the pleasure of being served by Gabriel. He was charismatic, kind and efficient. He made us feel extremely welcome and the whole experience could not be faulted. We look back on this with great fondness as it was a standout for us in terms of both food and service. We had the oriental chicken salad and ribs. Gabriel introduced us to some of his colleagues and showed genuine interest in what we had to say about Australia, as well as how much we love the US. He is a credit to the establishment. We thought of Gabriel, as well as other residents in Asheville, and the broader community, when we heard about the impacts of Hurricane Helene. We hope everyone is safe and well. If we are fortunate enough to get to Asheville again, we will be sure to stop by. Thank you, kindly and God bless.
Best experience ever. Very friendly greeting as soon as we walked in the door. Once we were sat down we were shortly greeted by our waiter which was also a pleasant first impression. He did a great job checking on if we needed anything. I cant remember what his name was but he was great! Everyone was very clear that it was a little busy and we may need to wait a few. It honestly wasn't long before our drinks and appetizer was served even on top of them saying it would be busy. Not only that but our food was served shortly after the appetizers and the server was so kind also and a very uplifting great first impression. Really appreciated the atmosphere as well. It was laid back and they played all sorts of music from country to pop and much more. The food was so good. 10/10 Overall was one of the best experiences I've had at a chain restaurant in a long time. Great job to the night crew on 8/2/2024!!
I ordered pickup online. Got to the restaurant 5 minutes after it should have been ready. And I sat and waited for at least 30 minutes before I had to call the restaurant and ask them what was going on with my food. They brought it straight out to me. It was cold. No apology for how long I had to wait. Apparently one of the employees boyfriends was parked in the pickup area and was blocking my car from the camera. Got in touch with the regional manager and was issued a full refund. Never had a problem besides this night. I still plan on going back. Hopefully next time it will go better.
Came to eat with those near and dear to me. We had a wonderful time. Our waiter, Andy, did a great job making sure we had everything. We got to speak to the manager, Mandy, and she was kind and accomodating. Wonderful staff and great food :)
Went in to grab a quick bite to eat and to get a few drinks with friends. After sitting down the waiter had informed us that they weren't making any mixed drinks due to the current boil water advisory after hurricane Helene. Understandably, all of us were okay with this and didn't mind just grabbing a bite to eat and getting drinks later, or somewhere else where they would accommodate us. We were then told that I couldn't have my water bottle in the restaurant and that I would have to order a drink. Despite this never having been a policy at literally any restaurant I've ever been to in my entire life, as well as literally any other Applebee's in the country. They said that I could order a water bottle, and that it would be $2.99. For a singular bottle of water that strangely looked extremely similar to the one out of 40 waters found in packs at Sam's club for $4.99. (Gee, I wonder why...) The waiter had claimed his manager was giving him a hard time all night about customers bringing drinks in from outside. Whether this was the waiter trying to sell more product, and trying to bring up his tips/overall money made that night, or a genuine case of a manager having a stick shoved way too far where the sun doesn't shine is unclear. If there's a boil water advisory and you cannot serve me water, let me bring my own in. This has never been an issue with this anywhere else in AVL I have ever gone. If it is a policy of Applebee's, it is pretty disappointing that under the circumstances of water being unsafe for human consumption, I can't protect myself by bringing in my own, and now have to pay for water when you're already charging me 15 dollars for a cold meal. No thanks.
My boyfriend and I came for lunch, and we were not disappointed. We were seated quickly and our server, Betty, was very attentive and checked in on us frequently. We got the 2 for $23 and had the spinach and artichoke dip for our appetizer. The dip came out quickly and was topped with parmesan cheese. There were plenty of chips and plenty of dip. Our food came out shortly after, we hadn’t finished our appetizer when it came out which was awesome. I got the classic cheeseburger with fries, and it was juicy and flavorful. This was an awesome and refreshing experience because we have been used to long waits at chain restaurants.
