What's up guys and gals, it's been a while since I've posted on here, I truly apologize.... So recently the wife and I were out doing a little shopping for the house and got hungry so we stopped at Applebee's in Lyndhurst. I'll get to the point, the food was great, piping hot, we didn't have to wait long because we went around 1pm so it wasn't crowded... It was a great experience, we've been to Applebee's multiple times and this one was the best. Can't remember our waitresses name, I'm sorry but she was nice and helpful. Our food was delicious and our drinks were A1 and strong! (This was a good thing, strong drinks are always a good thing, lol). Check the photos... Oh and the price point was good, we spent probably $70 altogether, we have two apps, two drinks and two meals.
Where to begin? Called for a take out. Was on hold for 15 minutes and then got hung on. Finally placed my order. Was told it would be ready in 20 minutes. Got there and waited 15 minutes before anyone acknowledged I was standing there. Finally got noticed. Waited by the bar for my order. The order wasn't ready...go figure! Finally got it and they forgot one of the meals I ordered. Got it home and looking forward to it. Another let down! The chicken broccoli Alfredo was bland. There where was hardly any Alfredo sauce. Garlic mashed potatoes... what garlic? Wouldn't recommend this location especially for paying over 40.00 dollars. If you want quality for what you pay I would definitely recommend the Steelyard Applebee's location. Thought we'd try the Mayfield location for a change. Closer to home. What a big mistake!!!!
We were seated instantly. However, we waited 12 minutes before we were even acknowledged by a waitress. We decided we'd wait 3 more minutes and leave and miraculously someone came over almost instantly. ???? Applebee's has 1 of the best happy hours but with such horrible service, it's just not worth it. We waited an equally long time for service of any kind. The food was good and cooked exactly as ordered. The atmosphere was fine. It wasn't busy at all, which made the long waits annoying.
First time at this Applebee's and everything was great. It's always nice to be greeted when you first walk in the door. We immediately sat at our table by the server. Anthony, our server was pleasant and knew the menu well and was patient intking our order..
We receive our food in a timely manner and at the right temperature to enjoy while eating.
Ordered appetizers as well as a meal; they came out seconds apart. Unfortunately; our meal was cold by the time we tried to eat some, so we packed up and took it back to the hotel.
Customer service was very good! It's been quite a while since we've seen people who enjoyed working; especially in hospitality!
I ordered take out the classic combo specifically something quick to eat in the food was over cooked and seemed old especially the chips and the spinach dipping sauce and cheese was burnt!!! The mozzarella sticks breading was dark and didn't have any cheese in them! The food was hard to eat. I wasted money!!!! I will not be ordering from this location again!
The Good: Server was nice. Half off apps 3pm to 6pm and 9pm to close was cool too. Boneless wings seemed to be a solid option. Was not busy at all.
The Bad: Person who brought the food out had an outside winter puffer coat on serving food. Asked him if he was cold, he said no. Weird. Food was meh...very "mid".
The Ugly: The alcoholic beverage on special could not have contained any of the alcohol they claimed. I wasn't expecting a top shelf strong drink but this tasted like very sweet juice, not a hint of alcohol. Would not recommend. Quesadillas are poor compared to what they used to be. Barely filled with ingredients. Would not pay full price for them.
