So we walk into an almost empty restaurant and told a 20 min wait. I say we will sit in the bar area, but I'm told she will check with the bartender. Bartender 'permits' us to sit. We sit, only to be told the tables in the bar area are not permitted, we must sit at the bar. Forget it.
We should have known better at this point, but we were next door at the hotel, it was pouring rain, so we order food to go. We get back to luke warm food and a messed up order. If you don't take care of your people, they won't take care of us. I ordered my burger with no onions.
It was the 4th and only one person working the whole floor. The food was more fresh than I had. The waiter/host/bartender did good and cook.
It's a chain family restaurant, not bad but not great.
This particular restaurant was actually quite clean and I will say that the bathrooms are actually very clean. The food was perfectly fine. My fries came out a little cold and my wife got the fiesta lime chicken and turned out the rice was actually very hard and the chicken was potentially undercooked. Otherwise the burger I got was quite good, my mom got their steak and it was tender and a good medium doneness. The chicken and shrimp platter was very good and the the chicken was perfectly cooked actually.
The restaurant was clean and the bathrooms had a slight sewer smell. Food was great and came out in a good timely manner. Bartender did a fantastic job and the mod Margie was super nice. Glad they changed some of their management!
Food was ready at estimated pickup time, hostess/waitress that helped and handed me my food was friendly, and the burger was decent enough.
For only $10 fries and drink included not much to complain about. That being said...I wanna know the mad lad that arranged my burger as patty, bacon, THEN cheese ????
To be honest, haven’t been to Applebees for over 15years. Came for 1/2 off apps and the wonton chicken tacos were amazing. The staff is so friendly without being overbearing. One of our apps was delayed and the manager came and told us she was taking it off the bill without us even asking. Will def be back.
I ate here for dinner the other afternoon and I got seated pretty quick and then greeted by my server soon after. She was nice but she was out of sight most of the time so when my appetizer came out (boneless wings) and I had no fork I had to eat them with my fingers and I also had no napkins to wipe them off with for awhile. When she did finally come over I asked for silverware and napkins and she got them pretty quickly. She refilled my drink once and I ended up just taking it to go. It took 40+ minutes for the food to come out and I was trying my hardest not to eat all my wings because I know I would be full. It sucked because I saw someone come in a while after me and they got their food before me. When I finally did get my food it was okay and I ate it all. The table was clean and the restaurant was quiet so I enjoyed myself while I waited.
Weve gone there twice within the last 6 weeks, the second time two weeks ago. The first time, there were 2 or 3 parties waiting to be seated when we walked in, shortly thereafter a woman came over to the waiting area to inform everyone that they were short staffed and there could be long wait times for everything.. Fair enough, myself and a couple of the groups turned around and left, one couple stayed. Now a couple weeks ago we went back, wasnt crowded either time, got seated etc. A nice woman came to our table, we gave her the drink order the appetizer order and the entree order all at once. She brought the drinks quickly but that was it for for a while. We watched in amazement as this one server made drinks, took the drinks out, went back to kitchen, brought out plates, in between she'd try to seat an incoming guest, then back to the other work. After about 20 mins a guy came out of the back to help start making drinks. We watched at least 3 parties turn around and leave because they couldnt get seated. The delivery drivers were piling up, doordash, etc. It just had the eeriest feel like no one was working there the whole time. One fellow in a shirt and tie did came out from the back once to seat a guest, but he went back wherever he was hiding. The saddest part is the food was actually very good when it eventually came out. They seriously need to go on a recruiting drive to get some help because we were in awe that night that the place was even trying to function the way it was operating that night. We may try again in a couple months to see if its any different
