Service was kinda slow, even on a slow night.
The Order:
BOURBON STREET MUSHROOM SWISS BURGER
Small yet juicy and full of flavor. The house-made garlic mayo really sealed the deal on this meal. Was sadly very plain when it comes to toppings. Nothing other than mushrooms and sautéed-onions on a nice oiled bun. Paired with salty fries.

Not the best I've had, but overall a great taste.
The staff and food were great. The downfall is lazy incompetent corporate ownership. No liquor license, poor lighting, faulty heat ( on a 20 degree night). Leads to very poor ambiance and experience. All the other restaurants in the immediate area are more inviting.
Both paper men's towel dispensers were either empty or not working. Cheese sticks could have been hotter, the cheese was stiff. Food was good. Staff was friendly. Generally a consistent apple bees experience.
We ordered 2 steaks both supposed to 8 ounces. One was 6 and the other was 8. Both were not cooked properly and my steak (the 8 oz.) was taken back 3 times and everytime it came it still not cooked medium well. It was very pink and not cooked even close to medium well. My grandmas (the 6 oz.) was supposed to be well done and only half of her steak was cooked the other half was all pink. The waiter was very pleasant but our food took 2 hours to come out. I talked to the manager and all she offered was a desert. Didn’t apologize or anything and said that they had too many trainees back in the kitchen. We will NOT be returning.
Probably the worst restaurant experience I've ever had. Food was cold, and really just gross. The service was okay at best. Took us over almost 2 hours to get served, and the place was pretty much empty. The manager messed up our checks twice. Just an all around bad experience for the whole party.
After we were in the restaurant we were told no alcohol, told waitress to post something on the door. She rambled on about taking away the
Sign, da, da. Do you have hot chocolate? Laugh, no I don't have that either. I have tea, do you want that? You have to be kidding.
Good timely food for a slow evening. Very welcoming atmosphere and our server Jay was doing almost everything all at once but still got to all our needs wonderfully! Chicken quesadilla salad was amazing!
I travel a lot and unfortunately it's by car. I drive at least 10 hours each trip and by the time I get to the road hotels, everything is closed besides Applebee's..I've had HORRIBLE experiences. This time though..everything was literally exceptional, from the perfectly seasoned and medium temp'ed steak, to the server and everything in between. Whoever cooked at the Mount Vernon location for us around 11pm on November 19th...please let them know, the deserve more than Applebee's. If they lived near me, I would poach them and have them work my resturants, no questions asked..it was literally a PERFECT 3 meals for all of us.
I hope the cook sees this review, or someone important let's him know that he/she is doing an absolutely fantastic job. That cook needs to be in an "actual" kitchen, sending exquisite food. I wish I could go back during a rush to see how they perform, but tonight...man...I can't brag enough for the entire staff there. Kudos from Chef Mike!
