I had the blackened Cajun salmon, mashed potatoes, broccoli and a brownie/ice cream. Everything was fantastic! I enjoyed my dinner!
Waitress was friendly. No complaints at all!
Macon, GA. Deja was a good server, attentive, prompt and fun. Good food, prices slightly high, well-lit large dining area with bar and many tvs; lots of kids and families were there tonight (Tuesday, 4/9/2024, 7:30 pm), 3 servers were sitting at two different tables in the dining area on their phones or a laptop and I don’t usually see that at an Applebees.
My husband used to love Applebees and ours closed back in Ft. Lauderdale so on our trip we visited this one. I stopped liking Applebees because a couple years ago I felt their food was mainly fried and I was on a diet. Even their salads were high-calorie. But I let him pick the restaurant tonight because he went where I wanted for lunch.
He was disappointed with Applebees tonight. He ordered the 8 oz. top sirloin steak and said the steak was thinner than it used to be. He smothered it in A1 sauce to compensate for the lack of flavor and the bit of gristle. He hates garlic and the sides were garlic mashed potatoes, garlic green beans, loaded garlic potatoes, etc. No baked potatoes. So he got plain fries and broccoli.
I got the blackened salmon with garlic mashed potatoes and broccoli. I love garlic and thought my food tasted great. My plate was only 600 calories. But I thought $17+ was a bit high for it and the portions seemed a bit skimpy. His steak meal was also $17+.
We were surrounded by loud children. One group had a birthday party, the table next to them had two toddlers throwing menus on the floor, and the table behind us had a really cute child popping up to peer at us. The party tables sat messy for about 15 minutes after the party left. But Deja, who was doing everything, was the one who cleaned it up. There was another tall server with shorter dreads who was also doing his best delivering plates.
Oh, our table didn’t have set-ups when we were seated but Deja brought them when we asked.
I wouldn’t mind paying over $17 for a small salmon meal if we’d had a romantic ambiance or a beach shack with a view.
As it was, I thought Applebees was better than I remembered but my husband said he wouldn’t return.
Pleasant atmosphere ???? we enjoyed sitting at the window the waitress was prompt, nice personality. Appetizers came out pretty quick fresh and hot,. The meal looked and taste just like the menu. Completely satisfied
Good food and cold drinks. Our server was pretty nice and knowledgeable. The location looks remodeled and it was really nice inside. It's always a good price range of food for your money. Definitely return and recommended.
Had a delicious rice bowl here on a Friday afternoon for lunch. Service is always fast and food is always consistently good here. At 11am there was nobody at the bar so I got served my beer and food very fast. The fish & chips are delicious and reminded me of being stationed in the UK. They have a bottle of malt vinegar for them too!
Food was ok, average service (a little slow). Salmon wasn't bad. Fiesta lime chicken was cooked well. Did not get offered Veterans Day $5 bounce back card.
The service was great this time. We all got the same meal and all three couldn't finish it.
You would be surprised, but finding a proper handicap restroom is very rare. I'm wheelchair bound so it's important to me. This Applebee's has them!
Walked in around 6 pm, did not appear too busy as there were plenty of open tables. Took 5 minutes for the host to show up, and multiple servers passed by without a greeting or a word. He finally took us to our table, minus silverware. The server was very nice but seemed new. The appetizer showed up in a timely manner, the plate was scorching hot, and the food tasted a little stale like it had been sitting under a heat lamp for too long. Side salads came out with the entrées. Entrées arrived and tasted the same as the appetizers, stale and plates scorching like they had sat under the heating lamps for too long. I ordered the Double Fried Shrimp, but it tasted like they microwaved a plate of Wal-Mart brand fried shrimp. The majority of tables in the restaurant went uncleaned by the time we left. Not sure if there was a staffing issue or what.
Overall, the dining experience was poor. The server was super nice, but the quality of food was terrible. We do not plan on returning to this applebees in the future.
