This place is overrated! I should know by now if a restaurant advertises itself as "iconic", and "gimmicky" it's best avoided. I did want to avoid it, and only came here as every other restaurant in this town seemed even worse!
My steak was dry and had absolutely no flavor. Zero seasoning, and the A1 sauce they provided was too acidic, but it was better then eating it plain.
The French Onion soup seemed fine at first, but by the third bite, it too also became too strong. And they put WAY too much cheese on it. We ended up scraping it off, because it was like eating rubber.
Fries had zero seasoning on them. Not even salt.
The bread had a very strange texture, and felt undercooked.
The only somewhat decent thing were the ribs.
But my biggest complaint is the obligatory side dishes. You want ONE thing, they force you to order 10 others!
I only wanted fries as my side dish, but was forced to order a salad I did not want. The other person in my party wanted a the French Onion Soup for the side dish, as the menu said soup is a choice, but was forced to pay extra, as well as get a side dish of French fries she did not want. As someone who hates wasting food, this put me in a really bad mood, that they force their customers to order things they know they aren't gonna eat!
The ambiance is cool, but that's really thing it has going for it. And I guess the price was also decent for the amount of food.
We shared the taco stuffed mushrooms,
Garlic Mushrooms soup. Entrees opened steak sandwich with peppers, onions.... I ate 1/2 took the rest home - lunch tomorrow.
Hubby ordered the liver and onions, he finished it was delicious.

Excellent local restaurant! Family friendly. We went here instead of the loud place across the street that Google suggested. The kids loved the kids meals with dessert! The haddock special was so good!
Everything was excellent, as usual. Service was friendly and attentive, food came out quickly and was lovely.
We didn't know that traditional style battered fish and chips are only available on fridays. We were able to order fish and chips, but it was prepared a different way...with a bread crumb topping. Had an amazing beer on tap, a seasonal one called Southern tier pumpkin king. It was pricey at $9.50 a glass (didn't know, price wasn't written on the chalkboard or on the menu) but was excellent.
We waited for 1.5 hours. We thought the result would be nice, but it was a big disappointment. Food was ordinary, salads were ordinary. Chicken parmesan was very basic. They poured tomato sauce on it, I couldn't taste the chicken or anything. Pasta wasn't even cooked properly.
Love to eat here. The food is always good and you are treated like a friend every time you walk through the door. The food is always consistent with a lot of choices from fresh fish to wings and steaks. And they also have a good wine selection.
It's a wonderful restaurant owned and run by a couple hard working families. They put their heart and soul in to the place. Please support them, I always will.
The minute I walked in the door, I was graciously met by a friendly host. I was seated quickly and didn’t need to wait for a server. The servers were all incredibly friendly and comfortable with the customers. I noticed how much laughter could be heard from table to table. When my food arrived, it was hot and absolutely delicious. I will definitely go there again! Five stars for sure.
Do not get the lasagna. There was NO ricotta in it!!! Only noodles, sauce and mozzarella. I never had anything so bad, my friend had the baked fish with garlic butter sauce and it was the blandest fish I ever tried, she let me have a taste of it, horrible, no seasoning. I spoke with 2 couples who had the fish fry and they said it was delicious. That must be what they are good at, but not a good experience.
