Lemon cake- delicious! Nashville hot chicken sandwich-delicious! Lemon rice soup- best I’ve ever had! Pierogis- dry and rubbery.

We have been regulars at Apple Annie's Kitchen since moving to the Detroit area in 2022, and initially, it was a standout choice. The food was consistently good, and the soups were simply outstanding.
However, in recent visits, we've noticed a significant decline in both service and food quality. One of the most frustrating issues is something as simple as getting the correct number of eggs. When the menu clearly states three eggs, it's disappointing to receive only two—especially when it's happened not once, but three times, especially with poached eggs which are fairly simple to count. This isn’t a matter of personal preference but of accuracy and attention to detail.
Beyond that, the cooking quality has also become questionable. Basic dishes like sunny side up eggs are delivered as over easy, and poached eggs have arrived hard-boiled. After several attempts to address these mistakes, it's become clear that this is a recurring issue, and it's one that management needs to take seriously.
Apple Annie's used to be a go-to spot for breakfast and dinner, but something has changed. I believe the responsibility falls on management to get involved and resolve these issues before they get worse. It’s essential to lead by example—teach the kitchen staff the basics, ensure food quality, and be present on the floor to see firsthand if meals meet your own standards. Unfortunately, my wallet won’t be returning until these problems are addressed.
Food was hot, fresh and delicious. Service was prompt and polite. Overall a great experience. We had the Nashville chicken sandwich and the Grilled Italian sub. Both highly recommended.
Overall, my experience was great. This was my the first time eating here. I have had issues with most restaurants scrambling my eggs medium. Apple Annie's cook made them perfectly. I will definitely be returning.
Ordered Doordash for breakfast items. Ordered a #7 the biscuits were so hard I couldn't even put a fork in them. Eggs were under cooked and never received any meat. Also ordered a #1 the eggs were under cooked with this meal also. Called the store and they said they couldn't help me. So called Doordash and I only received a $10 refund on an order I spent 25.40 on. I will take my business elsewhere after eating at this establishment for over 10 yrs and will not be using doordash anymore either. Very dissatisfied
10 different kinds of soup!! Amazing! Wish i could have had them all. Great food!! Great price!! Oh, and the baked goods were so amazing we had to take some home!
Always one of my favorite breakfast spots. They are always kind and you really get a bang for your buck, I promise you that. Always tip them good because the food prices doesn't put a dent in the pocket. Hash browns good be better but can't complain for the price
