Best WLM Reviews
First time in this location. Liked the varied seating options and open layout, especially because it was quiet enough for us to hear each other.
Food was delicious. Lamb burger was very flavorful, well cooked, and juicy. Pineapple chicken salad was also delicious. Brewed root beer was tasty. Only negative was the sweet potato fries - they were dry, over cooked, and hard to chew. We sent them back and got the house potato chips which were delicious.
Emma our server was fantastic - personable, attentive, and delightful.
Recommend.
We regret not going to Olive Garden, and I’m not a fan of OG.
Reviews online all were high stars, and pics looked good and we like grill/pubs most of the time but I’m starting to doubt reviews now, but I will post our truth cause we know we are picky eaters but all we ask for is good service, food and atmosphere.
The main doors were filthy, sign 1 we should have turned around.
All the servers congregate at the hostess area (or server station?) either way we were greeted quickly and taken to a seat. She took us to a high top table, I asked for a low table, there were empty ones, then she took us by the stairs next to a large group with lots of children, I asked for a 3rd table preferably not near children (we have our own, we like to sit away from other kids when we go out) and she sat us near the hostess station, so the whole time we got to see them all chat about and only go to their tables as needed, at one point though we almost had to ask two of them to move away from our table, the servers wears short shorts, not what I like to see, not my vibe for a server to be barely dressed below.
The $12 Pina Colada, I believe it had alcohol, for the price I hope it did, terrible, no coco pineapple flavor.
The bacon poppers were actually good, and the server who brought the food to our table each time, he was friendly.
Our server seemed very bored and going through motions.
My husband asked for burger well done, he always does cause they are 99.9% of time undercooked anyway, and this was the case, the center was very pink I told him to eat around it.
We don’t believe in sending food back, we had really bad experiences when we have in the past that that we just deal now (and I write a review while fresh on my mind).
My chicken fried sandwich wasn’t bad, we actually love the little flags in the buns and the stamp of a bear print on the burger bun, A+ on those little touches.
All in all, okay but not a 5 star rating and the owner/manager needs to improve the moral of the servers and their chatty station, that’s a D- for us.
Everyone else around us seemed pleased, maybe it’s a local place and we are just a traveling through couple. Maybe it’s the beer and alcohol and we went for food only, anyway, that’s our true experience.
I stopped in on a Thursday night for trivia and dinner. I sat at the bar. The parking lot looked pretty full but there were plenty of seats open at the barand a few tables open as well. Trivia was fun - nope I didn’t win. I found out a couple weeks ago that Appalachian is now distilling and did not realize they had been doing so for years. I ordered the Thai peanut power bowl and had an orange crush and then a Water Gap Wheat. Everything was good. The bartender was friendly and personable. Overall good experience.
We haven't been to Appalachian Brewing Company for about 6 years and I was so glad the dining experience was as wonderful as I remembered years ago!
Our server, Alli (spelling?), was fantastic. We had a table of 9 and she answered questions, kept drinks filled and was so polite. Excellent service!
The food... DELICIOUS! We had the malt haus salad, garlic parmesan wings, fiery burger and two soft drinks for $54. It was reasonably priced considering the large portions.
I hope more Central PA folks go enjoy ABC, it's a nicely decorated, open and tasty spot with great service. Thank you ABC!
Highly recommend coming here. Great selection of food and drinks even with me being a bit picky on drinks, they won me over! Service is absolutely amazing each time. We have come here for date night and also had a military promotion celebration here. Jenn was wonderful at coordinating everything and was very patient and understanding even after we changed things for the event a few times. Adam was an awesome bartender and took care of us during our event. We highly recommend booking your events here. Between the few times we always had a blast and we will definitely be back again! Thank you Appalachian Brewing Co.!
The staff was very attentive and friendly. The food was delicious, we had the Cheesesteak eggrolls and the mango pork tacos. YUMMY! We also had a couple of draft beers which were also great.
I will start this review out saying that I had been looking forward to visiting this place for weeks! That said my expectations were pretty high. I love their root beer and every time I come to PA I grab multiple six packs to take home. That said the experience of the restaurant was kind of lackluster. The food was pretty good, thank God they had a vegetarian option to switch out Patty's on the burger, that was a huge plus. However we arrived with a six year old and no children's menus were ever supplied, we had to ask if they had anything for kids, which we found out they do have kids menus, which made my kid happy, however we didn't see the menu itself just ordered the chicken strips off of it. The server was nice and helpful but not very attentive. I had asked if I could buy the glasses that our drinks were in, a good cheap souvenir for 3.50 a pop! I was pleased at that. At the end of our visit I had paid our bill with the QR code and apparently the site didn't charge me the correct amount so I had to pay again. However my bank showed three transactions. They told me two had been voided and to wait a couple of days for it to be refunded. That ordeal is why I gave four stars, since it was kind of annoying if their tech is not up to par why offer it?
All in all I will go back just bc I love the root beer. Hopefully their tech issues will be resolved next time.
It’s a nice brewery, had schooner sigma oasis hazy IPA and it was good. Had sweet potato fries and they were decent. Would like to try more food and beer.
