Best WLM Reviews
This is a decent Mexican restaurant. It is over-priced for what you are getting, but that is to be expected next to a theme park. Our service was great, and the portions were perfect. They were nice enough to try and go dig up some ketchup for my youngest in the back of the kitchen.
Gross food. Fajitas were mostly onions, no fixing such as cheese or sour cream. I’ve never been to a Mexican restaurant where you had to pay for chips and salsa. Bean dip was great! Salsa was bland and taste like it was poured out of a can. The rice had no flavor. The service was pretty good as a manager kept trying to check in, but the food was just blah. I will never return and I highly don’t recommend.
Upon arriving at the establishment, I was pleasantly surprised by the inviting ambiance. The restaurant was exceptionally clean, and the decor, particularly the booths, was aesthetically pleasing. The background music, consisting of traditional Hispanic melodies, further enhanced the overall atmosphere.
However, the service left much to be desired. There was a significant delay in being attended to by the wait staff, approximately 10 minutes, and the subsequent wait time for our food to arrive was also quite lengthy. It is important to note that chips and salsa are not complimentary, and are instead offered at an additional cost of $4.95. The chips were homemade tortilla chips, accompanied by a flavorful tomato salsa that provided a pleasant spiciness. I highly recommend this salsa.
The quesadilla was a reasonably sized portion, neither too large nor too small, although it was somewhat overpriced for its contents. The guacamole served with it lacked flavor and was in need of salt and lemon.
I ordered the chili relleno plate, and while the chili itself was quite enjoyable with its well-balanced flavors, the accompanying rice was unfortunately very dry and hard, lacking in taste. The beans were also undercooked and still hard. The birria tacos were extremely dry and lacked any discernible flavor, akin to a microwaved version of the dish.
In conclusion, based on my experience, I would not recommend this establishment. The service was lacking from our server, and the quality of the food was subpar, the server never returned my change or receipt, The restroom was a mess, and I will be returning to re-review this restaurant to see if it has improved from my last review.
The birria tacos were good, but could have used consomé on the side. My daughter got quesabirria appetizer which was a little better. It is okay Mexican food, but being Southern California there are many better options around. It’s good Mexican food for the universal studios immediate vicinity though.
This location is quite attractive, so I decided to grab a quick meal. I enjoyed a delicious salmon Caesar salad and some flavorful steak fajitas with beans and rice. I tried a michelada but didn't care for it much as it was mostly beer with a Tajin-rimmed glass, but the mojito I ordered was satisfying and not diluted. The establishment is visually appealing with vibrant colors and a clean atmosphere. Our server was excellent, offering helpful food recommendations and being very pleasant throughout the meal.
We were visiting Universal Studios for a few days and stopped in here for dinner one night while we were there. Didn’t know what really to expect. As soon as we walked up to the hostess, we were seated, no small task with this party of 7, 5 boys, momma, and me. Lol. The decor was really cool, a little dark but nice and very casual. Kind of gave us a “Coco” sort of feel (hope you’ve seen the movie and if not, highly recommended)!
Anyway our server came right over and took our drink orders. I’m a simple beer dude so I got a modelo and I think my wife got a strawberry margarita. Of course, nothing too strong for the kiddos so we stayed with sodas! :)
We ordered some chips and guacamole an and nachos with chicken as appetizers. Absolutely delicious and could’ve easily made a meal on them! Kids got grilled chicken, quesadillas, bean burrito, etc you know usual kid stuff.
When it came time to order, I went all in for the burrito supreme with carnitas and the wifey got chile verde. Both dishes were phenomenal. We absolutely stuffed ourselves and had tons to take back to the hotel!
Overall we were pleasantly surprised and the food and service were great from beginning to end. If you’re in the neighborhood and want some good Mexican food, stop in to Antojito’s!
Antojitos restaurant exceeded my expectations! The vibrant atmosphere, coupled with friendly staff, made for a delightful dining experience. The menu offers a wide array of authentic Mexican dishes, each bursting with flavor. I highly recommend trying the taco salad and Nachos they were absolutely delicious! The portions were generous the nachos can feed two and the prices were reasonable. Overall, a fantastic spot for anyone craving authentic Mexican cuisine. The cost for unlimited chips and salsa is $4.95!
Was just refused service at the bar that I have eaten at many times because I left my ID at home and I am 58 years old (and definitely look 58 years old) . I even have a picture of my California ID, and a paper copy of my temporary drivers license by for the manager this was not good enough. Was treated rudely by the manager in front of my lady. By the way the food and drinks here have always been second rate and i still regularly frequented the place because of proximity to universal and the bar is always. empty (i am starting to see why). Thanks to tonight i figured out there is a Margarativille just a short walk away which has much better food and drinks and infinite better service and a good vibe.
