We had a lovely dinner here. I'd definitely recommend their french onion soup and delicious cherry cobbler! The patio was nice this time of year. My only note, and not a complaint, on their online menu, they have a cocktail called a Kentucky Mule and it has Jack Daniels in it. As someone from Tennessee, just wanted to let y'all know, Jack Daniels is in a Tennessee Mule! A Kentucky Mule is bourbon, usually Jim Beam.
To start we had an extremely sweet and lovely waitress. However the experience is not worth the price at all. We waited an hour to get our salads and the drinks we ordered had no alcohol and tasted like straight syrup. Once the food came we were so hungry from waiting and being on the water all day that we did finish our food but the cost of it is ridiculous for the quality we got. Before we knew what the quality would be we ordered extra food to take home and eat later. The chicken tenders tasted like they were from a frozen bag and for $17!? The only good things we ate were the fries which were nicely crispy, green beans which came with the steak that looked like it had been microwaved then finished on the grill and was over cooked and the cheesecake we got as an apology for the disappointing meal. We also ordered the trophy burger which was fine but it was again overcooked plus it looked and tasted no better than a burger from a chain. It needed something fresh and it had one sad piece of bacon with a wilting piece of lettuce. We got the fettuccine Alfredo to take home for $17 that looked like it again had been sitting out and microwaved back up with barely any flavor. We ordered chicken with this for an additional $8 and they left it off.
Overall the food is palatable but they need to rethink their recipes if they want to be charging these prices. I think two stars is generous and it’s mainly due to the very kind waitress and cheesecake.
Always great food and service when we come here! My son especially loved that the burger he ordered off the kids menu was "buddy sized" as he calls it. Instead of just being a thin hamburger it was just smaller in diameter and so still had some height to it. He loved that it looked similar to his dad's hamburger, more like a shrunken down version instead of one that was just flattened.
Got there just before the early to late menu change so could not order what we really wanted. Alternate/ late menu was OK but limited choices. Our food was great and drinks good. Service was a tad slow but acceptable. Easy parking, good atmosphere.
We really enjoyed our experience here. Our server, Chloe, was great, super friendly and efficient. We wanted for nothing, even on a busy Friday night at 6 PM. My hubby had the Chicken Pot Amazing with cole slaw. He was SO stoked about finding it on a menu. He said it was the best chicken pot pie he's ever had! I had the Mac and Cheese with the brisket and tomato jam and a side salad. The side salads here are really good! I would recommend the white balsamic vinegrette for a dressing choice. The Mac and Cheese was tasty too. The smokiness in both our dishes was really good and on point, not too smoke forward. The portions were a good size. We loved the food, service and atmosphere. This is a fun place. The food we’ve had before has always been good. I have to shout out the walleye appetizer. It’s great. The service has been a little hit or miss but never bad. Nice view outside if you sit in the side in the shade. Far back patio can get warm though. Inside is fun with a very nice vibe. We visit every summer and always make it our dinner out. One of the best choices in the area.
We come here frequently but today was an exception. Sat at the bar with my spouse and one other person was there. Wanted a second drink. About seven servers stood idle at the hostess stand since the restaurant was empty. Not sure how long I waited. Like 15 minutes. Finally lost my patience asked for the bill. When leaving one of the mindless teenage servers told us to have a great day although she knew we had tried to get service without resolve What a naive girl. Probably won’t go back. I’m sure it won’t influence other visitor but needed to say my peace. Shame on you antlers. Never in my life have I ever not left a tip but today was the first time.
Alyssa (hope that’s the right spelling) was a great server for our party of 4; sitting outside on the patio. She was delightful. She was personable and spot on with suggestions. I was in the food service industry a number of years ago. It would have been a great pleasure to have Alyssa on my staff. Aside from a wonder server, Antlers Fireside Grill turned out to be a great place to get caught up with our dear friends…. Portions were perfect and the food was delicious. Management is doing a great job- For sure, we’ll be back. I highly recommend. .
