Best WLM Reviews
One of the best pizza places. Not a lot options to choose from and no customizations available.
However there are some good selection of choices here on the menu. The classic margarita pizza and the mushroom pizza were my personal favorites. The side of condiments are excellent, for all those spicy lovers be careful of those hot chilies, they are really hot.
I was there around 3:30 pm and only one other person was there. I ordered the Margarita pizza ($21). It was basically a cheese pizza with basil. I asked for no garlic on mine. They didn’t have fresh tomatoes, which was very disappointing for a pizza place. The pizza came fairly quickly, but the basil was semi-burnt, which I did not appreciate. I picked around it. Lucky for me there was not a lot of basil anyway. The pizza itself as a whole was just ok. In my humble opinion, not worth the over inflated price. I understand this is Avalon and everything is over inflated. The crust was good and my favorite part of this pizza. Also the pizza was a little on the greasy side but that is to be expected with a cheese pizza. Was it worth the $21? Big No.
Would this be my go to pizza place, absolutely not. Would I consider going there again honestly I’m not sure. Maybe.
Antico Pizza Napoletana in Avalon offers a lively vibe and authentic Neapolitan flavors. The Margherita pizza we had was outstanding, with a perfect crust, fresh mozzarella, and basil. Great for casual dining, though a bit pricey. A must-try for pizza lovers!
We went here for a dessert. It has an amazing array of delicious pastries and ice-creams. The place is bustling and noisy but the desserts are yum . Definitely, a cafe to visit again. ????
The epitome of Neapolitan Pizza. Just as good as the original restaurant. We always get the Margarita but everything else is amazing. We also got a small salad and it was simple but incredible.
We ran in here for a quick bite in between movies. The place was very busy on a Saturday around 5:30 but our pizza came out quickly. Staff were friendly and efficient but we didn’t like the pizza that much and I wasn’t a fan of the seating.
First, we had the lasagna pizza. It sounded like we’d be getting a sloppy meat and cheese delight but it was quite lacking in toppings. We found it to be very light on sauce and pretty dry although the flavor of the meat was good. I can never decide if I like the slightly burnt flavor of a brick oven pizza crust or if it tastes just that… Slightly burnt. Here’s the thing. Antico has won Michelin awards for their pizza so obviously it’s critically acclaimed, but it wasn’t our bag.
The majority of the seating here is also cafeteria style, where you’ll be sharing a long table and bench seating with other people, other groups, other folk’s drama, if they’re having it. There are individual tables outside, but it was a dreary, rainy day, so we didn’t really have the option to go out there.
Don’t expect to dine leisurely. Because it was busy, people were aggressively hovering waiting for our seats. We stood to leave and a woman who’d been right over our shoulder literally hopped onto the bench beside my son before we even vacated the table to ensure no one else took the seats we were abandoning.
At the front of the restaurant there is also a coffee shop. At this hour it was quiet and warm in there, and smelled delicious, but we didn’t have a chance to sample any of their coffee or desserts.
I recognize that a lot of this review is personal preference; You may love a thin crust, lightly topped, slightly charred, brick oven pizza and you may find the imposed congeniality of food hall seating to be charming, but it just wasn’t our thing.
We thoroughly enjoyed. Amazing pizza and atmosphere. Amazing awesome pizza comes down to a few things that are hard to come by when it all comes together……hot authentic wood fired oven, dough recipe, sauce, fresh simple ingredients. Check, check, check, and check. Amazing. Can’t wait to go back or grab a pie for the road. We loved and will be back. Simple margharita pizza was great.
I finally got a pizza to go from here and was not disappointed! The cafe smelled so good walking by while I was at Avalon and the pizza on tables looked so appetizing! Inside you order and pay then sit or carry out - the line moves quickly. I was a little overwhelmed at deciding but the cashier was helpful in recommending popular pizzas. I do wish there was a personal size option as there is just one size. The pizza was delicious and a nice change from the pizza I’ve been eating as it was more light and airy. The best! I could see this being a great place to go with friends and share a pizza but it was also nice for takeout.
