Best WLM Reviews
If you’re looking for authentic Italian food with great service, then this is the place! My husband ordered the Gnocchi and I ordered the Bolognese and both meals were DELICIOUS! The portions are large so bring your appetite or share. In addition to great food our server, Eva, was by far one of the best servers we’ve ever had. We both were beyond pleased with this authentic establishment and the atmosphere was very pleasant and friendly. We will definitely come here again when visiting Boston.
This restaurant had a nice cozy ambiance and ample seating for parties of all sizes. Many solo diners including myself were seated at the bar. I ordered a beer and the vongole. While the flavour of the vongole was good, I think putting the pasta dish in the oven to finish was a bit of an overkill. Pasta was incredibly overcooked. Got served some sourdough bread as well which was very light and fluffy and still warm so I preferred to dip that into the pasta sauce and enjoy it that way rather than eat the pasta. Overall, I’m not sure I would return again. Nothing about the place stood out in particular and the quality of the food did not justify the price.
One of the coolest spots in little Italy, I loved the set up. The food was really cool, they offered gluten free pasta and vegan cheese which made my day! The service was a bit slammed, we had to wait a while to get seated and checked out but that’s to be expected when it’s a popular spot.
I can’t believe I’ve never heard of this place in my life. This place has to be one of North End’s top 2 authentic Italian restaurant, it’s definitely on my list.
Their sauce is the soul to the deliciousness of each dish! The ambiance is casually romantic with its exposed brick walls. The service was friendly.
Do not miss this place when you’re in the North End!
Tried the polpette starter and it tasted amazing and a great start to the meal along with the Caesar salad! We got two main courses a margarita brick oven pizza with pepperoni along with the fettuccine positano. The scallops has amazing flavor and was my favorite dish of them all!
I recently went Antico Forno for a birthday dinner after hearing great things about the place. Unfortunately, despite having a reservation, we waited about 30 minutes to be seated. It wasn’t the best start, but once inside, the warm smiles and cozy atmosphere, reminiscent of Italy, helped set a nice tone.
For the meal, I ordered the Spaghetti con Pomodoro, while my friends had the Lasagna Primavera and Lasagna Bolognese. The lasagna dishes were fantastic—rich, flavorful, and well-made. My spaghetti, however, was overcooked and too soft, though the flavor was still enjoyable. The complimentary slice of Tiramisu was also pretty delicious.
For drinks, we tried the Pistachio Martini and Margarita. The Martini was smooth and delicious, but the Margarita overly sweet with an odd taste.
Overall, it was a mixed experience with some great highlights, but a few missteps.
We dined at Antico Forno and ordered fried calamari, spaghetti carbonara, and saltimbocca di pollo, along with a Chianti and two Chardonnay wines. The total came to $140 before the tip. The best part of the meal was the wine selection. The calamari was good and came in a large portion, but the rest of the food was disappointing. The bread was burnt on the bottom, the spaghetti carbonara was mediocre, and the saltimbocca di pollo lacked flavor, drowned in a salty sauce. The atmosphere was extremely loud and felt like a tourist trap, and the service was painfully slow. I don't mind waiting for food, but I would prefer a more pleasant ambiance. Overall, not a great experience and was way overpriced. Would not recommend.
This place was absolutely fantastic. If you are trying to decide where to go in the north end, I highly recommend Antico Forno! I saw some reviews complaining about noise levels and the hectic environment, but that's exactly what I expect from a busy Italian eatery on a Saturday night in Boston! If you don't like that, maybe stick to the Olive Garden in your local suburb!
Anyways, the food was some of the best I've ever had! The pizza and arancini were incredible but the real star of the show was the fettuccine alla bolognese, the pasta was freshly made and the sauce was just so well balanced, I truly can't say enough good things about it.
What really topped this experience was our waiter, Nate. He was always smiling, made sure we were never waiting to long for anything and overall went above and beyond to make our night truly special! Thank you so much Nate, I really hope the owner sees this so she is aware how lucky she is to have such incredible staff!
Overall it was a phenomenal experience, we were celebrating our wedding anniversary and I don't think the night could've gone any better. We will absolutely be back here next time we are around the North End!!
