My husband and I decided to give this place a try to celebrate our anniversary and so I could finally use a gift card that I've been holding onto for months. For a place that seems "upscale" with a good sounding menu, we left feeling partially satisfied by the end of the night. Don't get me wrong, it was enjoyable and we didn't encounter any issues, however our experience was kind of mediocre in comparison to similar restaurants we've visited. This was one of those it was good to give this place a try but chances of us coming back seem unlikely.
I had placed a reservation online via OpenTable (great platform to use to reserve seats) so we were seated instantly when we arrived. The front staff, our waitress, and cooks were all kind and had great hospitality.
The menu has a decent selection of food to choose from. Fresh (and I mean VERY fresh) sourdough bread was brought to our table which was so good. We ordered the Dungeness crab dip to share and that was amazing; the portion looks small at first but honestly sharing it between my husband and I was just the right amount and the flavors were incredible. For our main meals I got the Alaskan cod and my husband ordered the 10 oz sirloin with tempura prawns. My plate was interesting, I thoroughly enjoyed the fish and the seasonal vegetables but the rice pilaf that came with it had pieces of pineapple and almonds which threw me off; wasn't a fan. My husband said his steak was a little overcooked from what he wanted it to be and it lacked some flavor, otherwise he still finished it and his tempura prawns were great. The amount of potatoes they had put on his plate initially was kind of a sad amount so he just requested for more.
The dessert options were great, and we ultimately went with the huckleberry creme brulee cheesecake and huckleberry slump. Both were so good; they had just the right amount of sweetness and the berries were a great touch.
Overall, I guess it depends on what you order. Their seafood options were great but I think how your order them in terms of what comes with the seafood kind of makes or breaks your meal quality.
My husband and I went here for a birthday dinner. We enjoyed ourselves.
Great service. Great atmosphere.
Photos of the amazing food!
Absolutely fantastic experience. Gorgeous scenery coupled with a great ambience, Anthony's Homeport creates a wonderful dining experience. The seafood is very fresh and sweet. The clam chowder is one of the best I've tasted and a must try. Their three course sunset menu before 5:30pm is fabulous and highly recommended. The service is attentive and friendly. I can nitpick a few things due to my food preferences but overall everything was done splendidly.
We were generously given a gift card to Anthony's for Christmas, so we decided to try them out. They sit you near large windows with a beautiful view of the water. Next they bring you out complimentary sourdough with butter. This was a nice treat. It was fresh, warm, and delicious. They were having a sunset special where you could get a starter, entree, and dessert for $33. This is an amazing deal because their regular prices are very pricey. Without this deal, you are looking to spend around $30-50 a person for just entrees. I had a small cup of chowder, shrimp scampi, and creme brulee. The chowder and scampi were both tasty. The creme brulee was bland and the topping was bitter. Perhaps it's just not for me. My husband received a flavorful and tender sirloin dinner. I had an iced coffee with Bailey's. My husband does not drink alcohol, and they have a very limited menu for regular drinks (lemonade, root beer, or $6 sparkling water), so he stuck to just water. Overall the food tasted great and the service was good. This is a nice date place, but a little pricey and small portions if you are looking for a simple dinner out.
Absolutely incredible food! Truly phenomenal and great presentation too. Great atmosphere, views and relaxing vibes. That said we had no service whatsoever. I had to beg to pay my bill and finally just asked another kind waitress who was working nearby to get our check. We will try again but certainly an off night for the service. Strawberry/rhubarb halibut was one of the best dishes I have ever had .
There’s a good reason this place has such a good reputation. We made a reservation for a Friday evening to celebrate some great things happening in life and it was awesome.
Service was absolutely outstanding. Hostesses and waitress were phenomenal. Attentive, polite, engaging, etc.
Food was also really good. We ordered a variety of plates - halibut, crab fettuccine, surf and turf, and a the tenderloin. Only criticism is the steaks were both overcooked, but still edible.
Also, if weather permits outdoor seating, we highly recommend it. Just beautiful with all the flowers and the waterside view.
Easy to recommend.
02/11/2024: Went in for brunch for my birthday. Arrived at 1015a to a fairly empty and quiet restaurant. Service was prompt and friendly. We ordered the seafood omelette, crab cake, clam chowder, and fried oysters. Everything was delicious! Savory clam chowder, not too creamy. Loved the fluffy egg omelette was full of Dungeness Crab and Bay Shrimp. Nice thick crab cake was perfectly fried. Fried oysters had a thin batter with great tartar sauce. Very satisfied. The blueberry coffee cake was so big! Had to take that home.
Perfect spot for brunch while enjoying a day trip to the capital. We did our shopping at the market before an amazing brunch at Anthony’s, followed by more shopping downtown and a trip to tumwater falls. Our server was great, the food was wonderful, and location was perfect. We’ve since been back for another great take-out experience.
