OMG! First off Alex the host at the front was just amazing the little interaction we had. Greeted us and spoke to us each time with a beautiful smile and great personality. Along with our waitress the beautiful Ms. Faith! She was very attentive, great personality and so sweet! The manager Faith was also great as well! She represented herself and especially her team so so well!! The food was...Lord...like it's not really a way to describe just go there and EAT. I promise you you won't regret it. And be speechless like me. All in all the service from the front to the kitchen and food was PHENOMENAL!!
The shrimp and grits are amazing!! The menu is very creative and unlike any other breakfast restaurant. Prices are very affordable and the drinks are also creative! There’s a lot to chose from and it is a comfortable setting with great service. 10/10 would definitely recommend and I will be coming back!
Absolutely the best meal we have had! Thank you to our server CJ for being so upbeat and talking with us. Your service skills are on point!! Megan the chef made our food to perfection and even came out to talk to us. We couldn't stop raving about it the entire time. GM Sharon was so sweet and sat there talking to us for a while as well. All around great service and food!!! When we moved from Alabama we thought we would never get to have Another Broken Egg again so we are super excited to have one within driving distance to us. Thank you all so much!! You know a place has to be absolutely amazing when you can even sit there and eat their butter by itself and it's so fluffy and creamy.
Left a bad taste. Biscuits and gravy, lacking gravy. When asked for more gravy. The waitress brought us a small half full thimble of gravy. With an up charge. Long wait for poor service. Manager did try to rectify.
I recently visited Another Broken Egg - Overland Park for the first time and was excited to try it, but the experience was disappointing from the start. Despite there being 12-15 available tables in the dining hall, the host seated my family and I in an enclosed patio area without asking for our seating preference. This patio was not your typical open-air setup—it was surrounded by cinderblock walls, cold, and compact, making it far less inviting than the dining hall.
After being led to multiple unclean tables, we were finally seated. I had requested to sit in another part of the dining hall, which was also empty, but the servers in that section refused to take on additional tables. I overheard them, along with the host, laughing about it, which felt highly unprofessional and disrespectful.
Despite all this, we stayed and ordered to-go. Our server, Rachel, was a bright spot in the experience. She was incredibly kind, apologetic, and offered complimentary beignets while explaining the menu. Her positive attitude was the only highlight of the visit.
However, while we waited for our food in this enclosed, uncomfortable patio area, the situation worsened. Several employees, including the manager, gathered nearby to hold what appeared to be a team meeting. We were the only guests on the patio, and it felt like we were sitting in their break room. This unprofessional behavior made an already uncomfortable situation worse.
After learning that the manager was present, it became clear why there was such a lack of hospitality and customer service. I’ve since tried to contact the restaurant to speak with the manager twice, but I have yet to receive a response.
Overall, the visit was highly disappointing, and I hope the restaurant can improve its professionalism and guest experience in the future.
There is a waiter in this location that looks to be maybe mixed. He was so extremely rude to my daughter and myself that my child actually said we should’ve walked out. He yelled at my daughter when she asked him about her drink which caused my friends to ask him why was he being so confrontational. No excuses was given as he never responded to them.
Fast forward to today 12/13/24 and we went back. I was happy to see tons of different servers and then we got him again. Nope I didn’t even order we left.
Now all the other servers are very nice and have great interaction with their customers, but him. Not at all. Not worth the drive or my money which is sad because they have great food.
Pastries were great quality, everything else including eggs, bacon and drinks were lower than average and more expensive than typical upscale breakfast places. If you want something sweet, this is your spot, otherwise, several other better options nearby.
UPDATE: I'm sorry to do this, but I'm dropping my rating to 1 star because of their waitlist policy. Getting breakfast in this town requires getting in line, always. Waitlists exist so that I can plan ahead and not have to sit outside a restaurant. This morning, we got in the waitlist here and it said there was a 20 - 30 minute wait. When we arrived, 20 minutes later, they said they had to put every walk-in ahead of us, so it would be a 35-minute wait. That's unacceptable. That's not how a waitlist works. There is a simple fix: don't lie to your customers by offering a waitlist that isn't a waitlist. No other breakfast restaurant in town does this. Please fix this.
We are breakfast fanatics, and we've been to every great breakfast place in town, and this might be our new favorite. Keep reading... I don't make that claim lightly.
First, I love the menu. You can get all of the breakfast staples you love, plus SEVERAL extremely unique creations. I'll post a picture of one half of their menu (I got distracted by the food and drink and forgot to get the other side), and you'll see what I mean.
Second, the food was excellent. My wife is an eggs benedict lover, so she got their seasonal "Shrimp & City Grits Benedict". The hollandaise sauce was great. The eggs were poached perfectly (she's a stickler about that, as you would expect). After a few bites, she said, "Well, I don't see any shrimp, but it's still really good." But she then took a bite of the little cake at the bottom of the benny, and it was a shrimp cake.
I like a sweeter breakfast, so I went with the cinnamon roll French toast. I've had cinnamon roll French toast and cinnamon roll pancakes at other places, and they're usually just the standard pancake or French toast with extra cinnamon, maybe some icing, and maybe made with a different bread. Not here! This was obviously a cinnamon roll, sliced, and crisped in a pan. The toppings were also excellent. Again, I like sweet breakfast, but my wife many times finds things I like to be too sweet. This was perfectly in the middle. I felt like every single bite had enough sweetness, and I never reached for the syrup. The fruit on top balanced well with the sweet roll.
But honestly, the two things that stood out to me were my wife's shrimp cakes and my scrambled eggs. There isn't a restaurant in town where I don't salt and pepper my scrambled eggs. Or maybe hot sauce. Sometimes cheese. These (as you can see in the picture) look like standard eggs, but there is something in them. I didn't season the eggs at all, and they were so freaking good.
There was one item that I didn't care for, and that's the sausage that came with my meal. It wasn't bad, it was just different in a way that I didn't care for. It kind of tasted like either turkey or chicken sausage, but since I only ordered regular sausage, it wasn't what I was expecting. I finished them, but I'll get something different next time.
Last note: my wife got the drink that had champagne and Grand Marnier, and she said it was excellent.
