Best WLM Reviews

Before I start, to be fair, we walked in 1 hour before closing. We loved the atmosphere of Another Broken Egg, but the service and the food was subpar today. This was our first time and I can honestly say that I seriously doubt we will be returning. Our waiter took our drink order, brought our drinks, then came back to take our food order and we didn't see him again until we were beyond ready to leave. Someone else quickly dropped off our food and left. As you can tell in one picture, my sausage was clearly burned. We were wanting a little extra syrup, but the waiter never returned and we aren't the sort of people to raise our voice in a restaurant in order to interrupt someone else who was so intent on leaving their shift that tables beside us were being moved around & swept under while we were eating. When our waiter returned to give us our bill we asked for carryout boxes and I explained how I was unable to eat at least half of my sausage because it was burnt. His reply was that he would try to get some to replace those pieces, but they were extra pieces anyway because I wasn't supposed to get that much sausage with my meal. (REALLY????? That's a proper reply?) We had just returned from a physical therapy session and aren't ones to sit and talk until a restaurant closes because we know those people want to go home. Had we been checked on when our plates were delivered or even once after before delivering our bill I could have shown him the problem. The manager looked busy in one of the front booths by the bar/kitchen exit/wait station and didn't come by either so we couldn't inform him. I think there were 2or 3 top tables of people while we were there and a very nice patron that came in about 15 minutes before closing and sat at the bar to eat so they definitely were not busy. I used to be in the service industry, my children have been too, so I know how important their tips are. I HATED leaving a note on our bill telling this gentleman that had we seen him even once between someone delivering our food and him bringing our bill he would have received a much better tip that the lowest standard. ???? I can say that the coffee he made me was wonderful. The food (even without the burnt sausage) was unimpressive. Sorry ABE! It just didn't work for us.
We came at a fairly busy time on Sunday. The tables who were seated before us had been waiting a while. However, the staff came out very apologetically and took everyone's order. The food came out in a reasonable time. Delicious! Service was great. The seating outdoor was my favorite part. I would visit again.
My husband and I came on a a busy Sunday and waited over an hour for subpar food. I ordered the crab cake Benedict. It was very bland and lukewarm at best. The egg was over cooked with no yoke. The hollandaise sauce was more like some sort of weird gravy. The potatoes were cold, rubbery, and flavorless. My husband order a omelette which he also said was bland. The staff was friendly but loud and unorganized. The manager was accommodating with our complaints. The manager even acknowledged the fact that he’s been receiving complaints all day regarding the crab cake Benedict. He did offer to remake the food however I declined as we had already waited long enough. I won’t return nor recommend this place. The food is definitely not worth the wait.
The pictures tell you everything you need to know about how our experience was here. We ordered the strawberry pound cake french toast and it came with a side of eggs and bacon. For $16 this french toast was absolutely disappointing. The picture was taken immediately after it was brought to our table. The portion was tiny and the taste was absolutely awful. I’m shocked that they even thought it was ok to bring this out to us. We’ve had frozen french toast that was better than this. They gave us syrup on the side and we had to drench the french toast in it to make it taste somewhat decent and even that didn’t help much. We also ordered the brunch jumbalaya and for $16, it was a huge waste of money. The service was ok, but definitely will not be returning. for a breakfast/brunch/lunch spot, this place’s food is a major fail.
Finally decided to give my neighborhood restaurant a try. I had breakfast here on a Sunday morning and tried the Hey Lucy! Omlette with coffee. The food was a 5/5. Unfortunately the service let me down. My server did not check on me once. I kept waiting to ask for an extra napkin and some water but she was no where to be seen. I also do-not appreciate my sever giving me a face because i asked or fresh coffee that is hot.
My potatoes are rubbery like they are from yesterday reheated. The problem is they’re also cold. The top layer of potatoes was warm underneath cold. I had the crabcake Benedict. It was also cold. Like warm on top but every layer below it was cold.
I don’t wanna complain too much, but the silverware had slimy stuff on it. I rubbed it and it was like lipsticks that had moved. I asked for new silverware and it was also dirty. The next set I asked, please can you make sure that these are clean before I open the napkin please.
Very concerned after our visit yesterday for many reason and I had to post after seeing this on the news today. We did not feel welcome by the hostess and almost left after how she spoke to us. Our waiter was great but could not make up for food. The quality of food and preparation has gone down tremendously over the last 2 years. I don’t think we will be going back especially after the new report.
Hey, sometimes you have to break a few eggs, you know! I came here for a family brunch, and all in all, I enjoyed myself.
Atmosphere is what you would expect a North Hills establishment to be, but on the flip side of that, so is the parking.
The food was simply delightful. I received exactly what I ordered in a timely manner, and it was hot.
The service was good by most standards, and our party was well taken care of. Even with one waitress!
I recommend this establishment for family of all ages, friends, couples, brunchers, and anyone else hungry between the hours of 7am - 2pm. After that..........????. Bon Appétit!!
Sorry, there are so few pictures. I will take more on the next visit.
