Best WLM Reviews

This was not what I expected from a restaurant. Boxes of supplies for sale are stacked up all around. Service was kind of shady & slow. I ordered an appetizer and didn't get it until paying to leave after we ate. Neither did we get everything that was supposed to be with the appetizer. We ordered the sampler that comes with 6 pieces total and we left with 3 pieces: 2 - beef and a pie. Missing were the MoinMoin, and 2 - chicken. Our food was served in to-go containers even though we were dining in. Weird! The goat and Jollof rice was good but the beef was not. Get your bottle or can drink from the cooler. It's too bad our service, food, or experience was not memorable enough to make it worthwhile visiting again. Also prices on the menu are not what you pay at the register. So if you are on a budget, beware! They pull a nice little bait and switch on you!
Quaint restaurant, very chill and homey vibe. The staff is very friendly and when asked for their advice on how to order they were super helpful! There is a bell yall need to ring to be serviced which makes it easy as there seemed to be only a few employees. We got complimentary bread before our meal which was very sweet and soft, a little chewy- which I really liked! We got the chicken egusi with fufu and it was soooo delicious! The chicken egusi was similar to pollo en salsa rojo and the fufu would be similar to mashed potatoes but with a slightly thicker consistency. I highly recommend coming here as you get to try a new a flavorful cuisine with amazing textures, tastes and smells while having it also feel very familiar. Also the portions are really nice, and they have a shop that sells cute waist beads!
The overall experience here was terrible. Upon arriving it took ten minutes to be greeted. The woman in the register was with a customer. Not once did she say hello or said she would be right with us. So mean while my family and I decided to look around at the items being sold there (we waited because my family and I really wanted to try their food, after reading the good reviews). A young lady came out from the back with food for one table and we expected to be seated or at this point anything! We finally decided to sit down and look for the menu online. We ordered six different dishes. Keep in mind the prices in the menus are not the current prices they charge towards the end and they do not discourse that. They also have a sign saying to be patient with our order due to it being done from scratch. Well, people kept coming in to eat and they were seated and served their food between 15-20 min. Our food took 1 hour and 45 minutes to arrive! We sat there the whole time. They came out once saying your food is almost done. We thought about leaving but honestly it was a lot of food that was being made so we stayed. Finally when the food came.. it was even more disappointing. The chicken was old, did not taste good at all. It looked like it had been reheated multiple times, the fish had a foul smell, the goat was very tough and the taste overall was not pleasant, the rice in all dishes was instant rice just reasoned different. The fufu was not brought with a side dish of water how everyone else had been. Upon leaving we ended paying more because the prices on the menus were not updated said the old man who was at the register. I will not go there again. Food not worth the wait, more money, and they don’t value their customers. You will be in the restaurant literally all alone because they are all in the back. I’d like to add that, I brought the food home to feed it to my dog so it wouldn’t go to waste and he didn’t even eat it! That’s how bad the food was.
For the price you have to pay. This place is not worth it at. You get a small quantity, the protein isn’t good and flavor is horrendous. I believe this place has great intention but there’s a huge lack of effort. Don’t waste your money here. ????
I've come here 2 times and I can't wait to go again. The food is really delicious and the owners are so nice. They even gave us some free chin chin with our orders (we finished it in a day, it was SO good). Service is very accommodating, they made to-go orders last minute before closing. Prices are very fair. If I could come every day, I definitely would!! 10/10. P.S. Try the okro stew with ox tail.
As a Nigerian, I do my best to support Nigerian businesses. I therefore debated seriously if I should write this review and came to the conclusion that perhaps a HONEST review will be in the best interest of the management and all customers and maybe this may lead to improvements
Without an iota of doubt, this is the poorest representation of a Nigerian restaurant i have been anywhere in the world. Let me start with the ambience, it looked more line a disheveled store than a restaurant with all sorts of odds ends and boxes stacked in plain sight.
The old lady who attended to me was polite enough especially as I spoke Yoruba but the food was horrible. I ordered for Pounded yam, efo riro and assorted meat. I mean you can't really get "poundo" wrong, the efo was bland but at least edible, the problem was the meat.
The assorted meat was simply anything they must have left in the fridge they just added to the food. There was what I recognized as "Isi ewu" (what's Isi Ewu doing in assorted), some other unidentifiable pieces of meat that came from a stale tasting red stew. Haba, it would have been better they said they didn't have assorted and I ordered something else.
The food was poor, poor, poor and I said that added stew was stale and I felt the "Isi ewu" was some left over. It's a poor representation of our rich culture and cuisine and I implore the old lady to make a decision if she really wants to run a restaurant (and get competent hands) or she wants to run an African store.
You don’t come here for the service you come here for the authentic food. I love this place! Expect about a half to an hour wait for you food because everything is fresh! Just be patient with the staff here as they are doing their best with serving and making FRESH food. It also has a little mart for food and imported items ????
First let's start with the service. Super slow , food took us almost 1 hour for it to arrive to us. The beef was very good , I asked him what he recommended he said "egsu" . Once I got my food the egsu tasted horrible, wouldn't try again. The beef was really delicious a bit hard to chew tho. Went there with my step-dad he liked the meal but didn't like the service at all . It was only 1 person instead of focusing on accommodating the clients there he was busy with things that weren't even important.. 2 dishes for $50+?? Not worth it especially since they took forever with our meals . I don't recommend this place to anyone unless you want to feel cheated and ripped off
