On vacation with 4 friends. I'm the only vegetarian. Everyone enjoyed their food, and our service was excellent. The old school Music was fantastic.
This is a "hidden gem" and now one our favorite places on the Island. We had the soft shell crab basket and it was the best soft shell crab we've ever had! Jim, the owner is a fantastic cook! We love this place.????❤
Not a friendly staff. We were the only ones there. I read the reviews before going. I was looking for a southern Gullah style cuisine. The woman took our order the counter when we walked in and my friend payed for it and she asked "'do you want to leave a tip?", I said "we haven't been served yet ". My friend had the Shrimp and grits and told the chef they were good, he just looked at him and smiled. I had the barbecue chicken salad,; it was okay and the Fried green tomatoes topped with blackened shrimp. The shrimp was excellent, the fried green tomatoes were cut thick , not seasoned, did not enjoy.
Amazing low price! I had the soft shell crab platter! Everything was delicious! The crab was fried perfectly as well as the French fries. Even the tarter sauce was really good.
Great lunch, southern comfort food plus great sandwiches and more! It's in a small unassuming shopping strip but nearby to everything. Very clean, great service. We will definitely be back! The food was delicious ????
My mom, grandma, and I are on vacation in Hilton Head and were looking for something to eat nearby; Annie O’s was about 5 minutes away, tucked away near some other stores. We went around 4, when they started to serve dinner, and it was empty. Our server, Bethany, was super helpful—she gave us a rundown of the menu and some of her recommendations. I ended up getting the fried chicken with mac and cheese and collards, my grandma got the fried chicken wings with a side salad, and my mom ordered the chicken and dumplings with sweet potatoes and collards. Our server told us that fried chicken was their specialty and it surely was because my. Goodness. The chicken was crispy, juicy, and well seasoned and they make sure to give you big portions too! I was holding a piece of chicken in one hand and a biscuit in the other, my grandma turned her napkin into a bib and was eating all the crispy bits from the chicken that fell on the tray, and my mom was scraping her bowl of sweet potatoes clean. Hands down, one of the best meals I’ve ever had; the food was so good we all got up mid-meal to compliment the chef because he truly, TRULY put his foot in it. 10/10.
Man I wished we would have found this place at the beginning of our vacation. I probably would have eaten here every day.
My daughter got the kids chicken nuggets and they were the freshest juiciest chicken nuggets I have ever had.
I got the fried shrimp because I was needing a good quality shrimp fix being on this island and thankfully it did not disappoint at all.
I don't know what they do to those french fries, I'm sure they're not healthy, but they are some of the best french fries I've ever had in my life.
We also have the white chocolate banana pudding, it was good, however, it has fake banana flavoring in it and that is just not my thing. If it was natural pudding with bananas, that would be much better.
Overall, we loved our visit at Annie O's!
I literally just left this establishment and my experience was nothing like the comments I've read prior. It was horrible! My husband had the southern fried chicken w/ "homemade mac and cheese" and "homemade baked beans." My son had chicken and waffles which was a flat piece of chicken breast and boxed French toast. Nothing had seasoning and the chicken was fried hard, it was dry, and the grease the chicken was fried in was old ( I do alot of cooking so I know better). Our bill was over $80 for 3 plates of sorry food. My husband asked to speak to the owner because the food was not worth it. He was offended asked what did we want him to do and walked off. The worst customer service ever. The best thing about the place was the waitress was friendly..
