My husband and I went for his birthday on a Thursday night and had just the best time. We made a reservation on OpenTable about a week in advance and there were plenty of times still available for dinner. We were promptly seated when we arrived slightly before our scheduled reservation and our waiter Larry greeted us shortly thereafter. Knowing it was our first time, Larry counseled us on the menu selections and specials, gave us input as we ordered (such as telling us that the salad was quite large and best to be split between us as we wanted it prior to the main course), kept our drinks refreshed, and checked on us amply without overwhelming us. The meal itself was mouthwatering and one we will be talking about for many more birthdays. Everything was cooked to perfection and seasoned well. As it was my husband’s birthday, we were greeted with a complimentary flute of sparkling wine each for a toast as well as a slice of apple pie with cinnamon ice cream to finish our meal (vanilla ice cream will never compare). To top it off, my husband forgot his leftovers on the table as we left and Larry ran out after us with it. 10/10 five star experience; I cannot recommend Annie Gunn’s enough!!
1st time and would say the food is really good and service is great. I will say confused about the atmosphere of the place. The menu prices would indicate fine dining but the crowd does not. I wore slacks and long sleeve dress shirt, wife wore a dress. We both agreed we felt overdressed for the place as I seen shorts, sweatpants and jeans. Just confused on its main experience...but food and service was great.
It’s my first time here. I booked a table for Friday lunch. Cozy atmosphere. Food and service were excellent. Our filet mignon (medium rare ) and ribeye (medium) were cooked perfectly as ordered. We also enjoyed clam chowder every much. My little one got his own order fish and chips( snapper). I could taste the freshness in the fish. Tartare sauce was delicious, paired well with fish and fries. It’d be nice if the fish came in one big piece instead. Cream brûlée was to die for. We”ll definitely come back.
The food, service, and atmosphere were perfect! We had a smoked shrimp appetizer that was amazing! Steaks were prepared exactly as ordered. The apple pie with cinnamon ice cream was to die for!!
So we started with the wings and they were cooked perfectly and tasted as good as they looked. The salad was awesome and the peppercorn ranch was fantastic. I ordered the tomahawk steak with potatoes and mushrooms. It was an excellent cut and cooked exactly as ordered. The dip sandwich was also a huge hit. So the food was all outstanding. Now the service... Jamie was absolutely brilliant! She was sharp and had all the answers! A true service professional. She made everything better if that's possible.
This is one our FAVORITE restaurants in the STL area.
The food and service is excellent.
Their steaks are cooked to perfection so it's hard for us to venture and get their other amazing dishes but we do. The meatloaf is a great choice but honestly we have never had a bad meal.
The only thing I would flat them on is cold butter with your rolls.
We haven't been to this place in years, but it has not changed in quality. Our server Lisa from Chicago was amazing. The food was so good, and of course the butcher store next door is always amazing. We love this place. We are from Illinois we need to visit more often
The steaks are excellent. I had prime rib cooked to perfection. Plan to write a large check to pay off your credit card or see a drop in your checking account though. We spent over $200 for two of us. If your budget permits try out Annie Gunns. You’ll need reservations way ahead of time to eat between 5-6 pm.
