Eating Vegan while traveling can be tricky, but we will be making this a regular stop when passing through Albuquerque or Santa Fe again. Everything was so tasty and fresh! Service was exceptional. I especially loved the vegan cardamom cookies I snagged on the way out to eat on the road!
I used to love this place but its recently gone downhill. I ordered Thai style stir fry and there was a worm in the food! It was also missing the tofu and had little to no flavor. The samosa I got had raw dough in the center. With the prices going up and the food quality going down, I dont think I'll be back.
Delicious every time! Quick and friendly service. Great selection of vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free. It’s our regular spot before concerts at Outpost, and any other time too!
I’m glad I ran into Annapurna’s on my way up to Taos. It was 10 minutes from the airport, has a great menu (I had a fantastic breakfast burrito, almond butter chocolate cake, and lemon ginger drink), and the service was nice and quick. Recommended!
Good food
Small portions high priced $$$
Cool place with a nice eclectic vibe. Tried the Kitchari bowl it was very good, but a very small portion size for the piece. The picture can help because it's a standard plate size. Got a bag of cookies to go, also small portion for the price.
Annapurna’s World Vegetarian Cafe has been serving simple, healthy food for more than 20 years. Every time I come to Albuquerque, I make sure to pay a visit. Whether you be vegetarian or vegan, it is impossible to starve here. And if you are carnivore, you will surely find plenty to your liking.
On my recent visit with a buddy of mine, I ordered the South Indian Sampler, while he went with the house-made veggie burger. My plate included a masala dosa, a couple of vadais, and a cup of sambhar. A delicious coconut chutney was included for dipping or spreading, and man was it all good. While south Indian dishes are generally much spicier than what one finds in the north of India, all of my items were very mild in flavor and demeanor.
My friend’s veggie burger was equally top-shelf, a far cry better than the frozen and boxed hockey pucks we find in groceries and at chain restaurants. It was made of lentils, black beans, veggies, and spices, and is completely vegan. It all comes tucked into a gluten-free bun, and with the usual accompanying items, like tomatoes and lettuce. A huge serving of fries proved impossible to finish, even after he gladly shared a copious amount with me.
Annapurna is the Hindu goddess of nourishment, and her namesake restaurant does just that in a very nutritious way, and in a very understated and cozy atmosphere. The restaurant appeared as background in S3Ep11 of Breaking Bad, after Jesse, Skinny Pete, and Badger attend a 12-step meeting at the church across the street, so you may just recognize it.
Now get to it. No regrets here.
We got the ABLT, green plate and veggie burger. The masala fries are oddly sweet and cinnamon-y, the ketchup is very sweet, and the focaccia and gluten free bread were both dry. The service was lovely and pretty quick.
This is one of my all time favorite restaurants ever! I love everything I have ever ordered here and the staff are very kind so make sure to tip them well! I didn’t post a picture because the food is so good it demands your full attention! Definitely come here and see for yourself. I am not going to say their food will fix all your problems… but it’s the next best thing :)
