Trustworthy place to try authentic Tamil Nadu style food.
Vegetarian options are also good.
We tried vegetation meals, parota and veg biryani.
Meal was scrumptious, veg biryani was also tasty.
But the parota was too hard and the chalna was a bit salty as well.
But overall if you go with hunger, the meals are the ones you should try.
We had dinner here for the first time and had a good experience. The staff was friendly and welcoming, with quick service. We ordered Mysore masala dosa and idli with chutney. The idlis were soft, and the chutney and sambar were excellent. The dosa was crispy, but the Mysore masala filling could have been more prominent. Overall, a pleasant visit, and we look forward to trying other dishes next time.
We tried this place on a late Sunday afternoon. The food is homely. The staff and the owner are very friendly. However they need to work on the service side of things. While we were waiting for our food I at least saw three parties turn back into another restaurant since there was no one to attend them. Also during service (I am guessing they are short staffed?) the only available staff has to juggle between a number of tables often having to ask for an excuse for not attending to the customer. While the food was really good and I do want this joint to excel - service is an area they need to focus on. Will definitely be back to try some other food on the menu. Please note to ask your server regarding the thali on the menu. While no festival thali is mentioned on the menu if you get a thali with some extra dishes not listed on the menu it’s a festival thali which is charged $21 . Overall a very good experience and the food was really delicious.
The food is really good authentic Tamil food. They said they don't add any additives to the food. We order chicken 65 regularly from them and they have started to make it without color which as a parent is great initiative for me. I can hardly find any Indian restaurants which don't add color to their fried foods.
They recently introduced unlimited dosa days on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We tried it today and it was unique and great. They have starters and sweets on top of 6 variety dosas to try. Best part all these are mini "samplers" dosas so it's not overwhelming and we can try it all. We left fulfilled with belly full and wallet not so empty! and the quality and taste was good too. Must try. Will come back again.
Easy to access and locate, bang opposite to the vegan restaurant Mylapore . Very friendly southindian hosts , great choices , freshly made after you order so service takes some time. We tried chicken biryani, quite good not that spicy flavourful one though , parottas were fresh and fluffy , dosas were a ll sour but the masala made up for it. Potalam parotta aka kizhi parotta is yum too much for a single person.
The unlimited meals which is served during weekend is unworthy. The non veg meal costs $24. They don’t have an updated menu with the rates mentioned. The people who serve the food don’t have an idea of what are the list of items to serve . We need to ask them to bring and serve else no one will come near your table. They have 4 curries in that meal. No sweet / payasam was served. The curries served were bland. For kids the meal cost is $12. Only one side dish with chicken was served . They flood your banana leaf with kulambu. Not worthy for the $ we pay. I would not recommend this place.
The lady in the front desk tries to pull customers to her restaurant but doesn’t ensure if everything is handled properly by her employees. Even for to-go orders she doesn’t handle the orders as we expect .
I recently catered from here for a baby shower event. We ordered a huge menu of 7 types of veg rice and non veg menu from appetizers, entrees to desserts. Everything was excellent. I was surprised to see that they did such a great job on veg dishes as I have usually only had non-veg in their restaurant. One of the trays we forgot to pick up and the restaurant helped deliver it to us so our guests to have their lunch on time. We even had plenty of left overs and they remained fresh for few days. All our guests enjoyed rhe food. I highly recommend them if u need catering for any event. The food and their hospitality makes it easy to manage the event.
