Very fun place and perfect for the whole family. Menu is great with lots of choices for the whole family. Very clean and well maintained inside and the staff are super friendly and fast. The Fish & Chips were AMAZING, great flavor, tender and cooked just right. Lobster bisque was just next level! They have paper towels hanging from the ceiling for easy access, so fun!!! Overall a great place, highly recommended and will definitely return myself!
I’ve been coming here with my Grandparents since I was a little girl. I loved coming in and getting measured (penny per inch under 10 on Sundays) and I was so happy to see the dolphin is still there. It’s been many years, and sadly my Grandparents are gone but we are driving to the Keys and I knew I wanted to stop and have dinner here to see if it was still as magical as I remembered.
The answer is yes. It still has a small diner feel, with a great menu, so clean, fresh food and a large bar, great patio seating option, and the food was delicious. There use to be a funny sign about mother in laws and loose women- that my Grandpa would chuckle about every time, I didn’t see it anymore as I’m sure it wasn’t pc enough but all the rest of it felt just like coming home. I love the garlic and parm oysters. My grandma never missed out on getting the Grandma Georgie style and Grandpa swore by the oysters rock. Tonight I enjoyed the lobster bisque, the peel and each shrimp, cilantro and lime rice, my guy had fish and chips, and we shared the peanut butter chocolate pie. They had a really great special for prime rib, but with being in Florida we try to stick to seafood. The server was friendly and attentive but what I really enjoyed was listening to management tell several of the bus guys and waiters how good they were doing and helping them stay on top of things with the dinner rush. It doesn’t get more family style then Anna Maria, but this kind of family is the healthy one you can’t wait to go home to at Christmas ???? Thank you Anna Maria Oyster Bar for being everything I remembered and more from my childhood.
All the food was very good and the prices were reasonable. To sa the service was slow would be an understatement. We tried to be patient as they said 4 people didn't show for work. Enjoyed the meal and drinks until I was charged full price for the raw oysters instead of the happy hour prices. I'd come back for the food, the rest was disappointing.
I went there today for lunch with my husband and Dallas was my waitress. She was absolutely amazing. She was so polite and friendly. She had a smile on her face at all times. She constantly asked us if everything was OK. She went the extra mile to serve us well and she did everything with a happy attitude. I totally loved her. When I go back, I will make sure I ask for her again. Thanks Dallas for being such an awesome waitress!!!
It was prompt and delicious. Casual. We had the Calamari and it was perfect! It wasn’t tough at all. The ceviche was good but spicyyyy, we picked out the jalapeños. The tacos were sooooo good. Kid friendly. We loved all of our food.
Went to the Ellenton, FL location. My husband and I went around 2pm. We ordered the half pound peel and eat shrimp appetizer, since we were hungry. He had the frog legs special (8); he loved them sautéed (choice or fried). They were seasoned well, and they came with two sides.
I had the fried clams from Ipswich, MA, with coleslaw and the veggie of the day, zucchini and yellow squash. Fresh and lightly battered, they were delicious alone or with cocktail sauce. Exactly how I remembered clams, when we were in Ipswich! Loved our waitress, Molly, who was so friendly and helpful with all our requests.
Fun atmosphere, but amazing food! We had shrimp and steak the food was hot, delicious and the server Sheryl (sp) was great! Never let my glass get empty!
It is a great place to enjoy good seafood. Their covered outdoor patio has a nice view of a large lake. The servers are friendly, and food is equally good. I've had their salmon, fried shrimp, fried fish, and the calm chowder soups many times over, and it was always good. The hush puppies are pure gold. It's the Best and only seafood restaurant I go to.
