My Dad was transported to AnMed ER by EMS on Friday, 10/28 for low blood pressure and low heart rate. I arrived at 7:10 and the nurse reported that she would be "leaving us in good hands" as their shift changed. A technician came in around 8:30 and hooked him to an EKG machine that I am not sure was actually working. After not seeing ANYONE for 3 hours, we left. I understand that the ER was packed and that there may have been other more severe patients but no one was checking on us. If someone would have just come in occasionally and taken his Blood Pressure or even pretended to care, it would have been helpful. They obviously need more doctors and nurses (unlike Patrick) who do not sit behind their desk but actually care about the patients.
I was seen in the ER today and I have to say the staff that took care of me were wonderful!! They didn’t waste no time seeing me. Dr. Reece and my nurse Megan and Chris were kind, compassionate and we need more people like them in the medical field.
Dr. Reece let me stay and rest after my second rounds of pain medication.
Thank you Megan for your wonderful bed side manners and thank you Chris for helping me as well and checking on me.
Horrible and mean HORRIBLE CARE! I can not list the dhec or osha violations I saw for the month my father was there. If either of those accreditation agencies had come while we were there they would’ve put a lock on the door and shut them down. If something happens and you need to go to the hospital, I don’t care if your car is out of gas! Walk to Prisma if you have to! Trust me, you will regret entering the doors to that place if you’re lucky enough not to leave with a toe tag and a hearse! It really is that bad.
I’m from OH, had fallen and split my head open and was taken to this ER. I was taken in immediately and was treated well by Staff and Dr Julie Chesson. From start to finish I was there only about 4 hours, which included a CAT Scan and several stitches. Thank you to Travis for a great hair cut, I know it was his first but he did a great job, I can work with it.
I had a 4 hour procedure at the AnMed Nuclear Med. I have learned, this past year, that compassionate care is extremely important. And that’s what I received. The personnel (I wish I remembered their names, especially the gentleman who did the test.) made sure my husband and myself were comfortable. Their kindness made my anxiousness go away. Thank you for your compassionate care. It was appreciated more than you know. And being reassured about the outcome helped me leave there with less concern.
I went to this hospital while going through a mental breakdown. My blood iron was incredibly low and they made me go into the cardiac area because they were afraid of my heart would stop. They proceeded to not only pop my vein, keep me in bed so long I developed sores and a hernia. When I asked to go because I was an incredible pain a male nurse came in and screamed at me calling me immature. The people in the mental health department were much nicer but I did have a doctor tell me that I shouldn't be that upset because he was raised in the Middle East. By the time I left I was incredibly worn down, someone stole my glasses, and my arm was incredibly swollen from them popping my vein and inserting blood into my arm instead of my vein. I genuinely would not recommend this place if you're going through a mental health crisis...
AnMed = AnDead. If you love and care about someone, you do not send them to AnMed. Even if AnMed was two minutes away, Greenville was 45 minutes away, and I only had five minutes left to live..... I'd still tell you to take me to Greenville. Going to AnMed is the exact same as sending an inmate to death row.
If I could leave zero stars I would. This is by far the worse ER visit I’ve ever had. First time visiting this place. I waited for a doctor for 6 hours with chest pains and shortness of breath. When the doctor came in I was really irritated and said y’all mine as well take the IV out I could have waited like this at home. A professional doctor response should have been I UNDERSTAND YOUR Frustration but I can assure you I’m going to make care of you. INSTEAD THE DOCTORS RESPONSE WAS ON WE CAN DO THAT (take the IV so you can leave) I said I’m not refusing care I want help I just want you to understand my irritation with the chest pains and wait ( I have a history of blood clot could have been life threatening) might I add.. the doctor walked out the room and denied care for me let me leave with shortness of breath and chest pains. No bed side manor no empathy no nothing
