Love this place ! It’s been our favorite since they opened in 1979 !! Very friendly & kind owners (family owned). Great food! Love the Special Hoagie with Onion Rings and one of their pickles!! Always made fresh to order!! A menu that has many options to please everyone!! Don’t forget dessert!!
I live this place but their hours have gotten horrible. Closing at 4pm on Monday and Tuesday? Then at 8pm the rest of the week? These are awful hours. As someone who is in the restaurant business myself you cannot survive with such crappy hours. I don’t look for them to be in business much longer. It’s a shame. Wish someone else would adopt this concept and actually run a restaurant and stay open. Shame. Chattanooga is about to loose a good one.
Been going to Ankar's for about 12 years. Always great food, great service and priced right. Back down in the Chattanooga area today on little business trip and always great to stop by Ankar's to relax and enjoy a good tasting lunch meal. My go-to for a quick and delicious lunch in friendly atmosphere.
The restaurant has such a charm to it. It's not a fancy restaurant. It's pretty casual but it's nice to be in. The food. Here is phenomenal! It is delicious. I come just for a steak and a sack and I have never been disappointed ever. The last time that I came here. Everyone in there was so nice and helpful. I love here
Over 37 years ago, my husband took me on our first date to Ankar's Hoagies. We have since married and moved away. It was wonderful revisiting a place that holds so many memories. The placed is just as good as we remembered. Food, service, and atmosphere is awesome. We hope it doesn't take us another 37 years to revisit again. We love you Ankar's Hoagies.
Food is so hot and fresh! It’s high quality food with a great price tag and good portions. Their onion rings are the best I’ve had and I highly suggest the steak sub with provolone cheese … so delicious! The sandwich is big enough that if you can probably share or have enough leftovers for later. It cost around $13 for the sun and onion rings.
The server up front was nice and that's why I gave it the single star. The actual food is not good at all. The Gyro was practically empty and the baklava was chewy and not fresh. They also don't have any options aside from the sandwiches.
We used to eat here 30 years ago when I was a kid and play the Addams Family pinball game. We went a few weeks ago for the sake of nostalgia, expecting to be disappointed as these experiences usually are. But the food was even better than I remembered. We ordered the onion rings, falafels, fries, and chicken fingers. All amazing. The people were so friendly and it was just like coming home. The only disappointment was the Addams Family pinball game is no longer there, but they do have a few pretty cool replacements the kids enjoyed.
