Ordered chettinad pepper chicken and this what it came.
Also ordered mutton sukka varuval…its the worst ever. We have had better food from anjappad.
I know its ‘end of the day’ order but if you don't want to cook please don't send then.
Fun fact: both the curries are same.
Very disappointed with the food. We ordered two different items but both were cooked with the same curries/bases. The Chettinad Pepper Chicken missed the pepper itself and was on the sweeter side!
If you are looking for authentic South Indian taste then Anjappar is a place to visit.We ordered a masala dosa and a ghee roast dosa, both tasted great. The sambhar and both chutneys were delicious. Here you have to place an order yourself using the ipad screen at the counter.The servers were nice and graciously served the food.
The last 2 times we bought something called "Bahubali family pack" both the times they gave us Lamb chukka/fry instead of Mutton(Goat). This food is not cheat it's $100+ dollars when they charge this much of money the expectation is that at the least they give what they advertise.
The biriyani and other items are average in taste. Serving Lamb instead of Mutton is the real downside. Hope they fix this.
We paid 16$ for mediocre eggplant curry with TWO EGGPLANTS in it. The restaurant is selling chicken dishes for that same price; they also clearly used a fish curry base. Come on...2 eggplants is maybe 50 cents? How do you justify such exorbitant pricing for mediocre food? What a joke - it's honestly embarrassing that you are willing to cheat your community this way. Quality and portions considered, this is worth 10$ max. Were it not for a 12 hour shift I would've made way better myself for much cheaper.
When I was a little kid, this place was less about being cheapskates and more about the food. It's a crying shame that yet another Indian restaurant that has fallen prey to blatant greed.
Very authentic Chattinard cuisine. We had ordered pepper chicken and king fish was appetizers. Chicken dish was very delicious, a bit spicy but amazing flavors. I felt kind fish was extra cooked /fried. Then we ordered Prawn masala, Lamb masala and aappam - all the dishes were cooked to perfection. The meat was tender and all flavors were very good.
This place used to be my favorites in 2010 time. It was so authentic. Between 2014-2017 , quality came down :(
I went there in February and Bang- they are back . Fantastic food now .. loved everything except the wait times ...
Parotta with kurma was just excellent!! Chicken fry biryani was outstanding ... loved the soup . We also ordered pepper chicken and it was so good.
Food quality was superlative overall. Will go again for sure ..
Food and service is excellent! Everyone must try their authentic delicious food. The restaurant is designed for pre-order and takeout or delivery. Their menu is very extensive, so please spend time to go through it and avoid regreating wrong decisions.
