Best WLM Reviews
This is a gem in the heart of Little Italy here in Cleveland. The modern dark and beautiful front seating area gives way to a massive dining room straight out of the 1950’s dinner club era of fine dining. Service was top notch even with a large party. I very much enjoyed my very generous portion of escargot, standard Caesar salad, and an incredible version of chicken piccata… one of my all time favorite Italian dishes and they do a mighty fine one.
i like the herb butter that comes with the bread, the gnocchi was pretty good, and the chicken picatta is great. However, the carbonara was really a downer. brought down from a 5 to 4. it was a real miss, not great. the eggs in it became scrambled. i enjoy sitting outside here in the summer, and the service is always excellent.
I love this restaurant! Good prices, delicious food, live music nights, great atmosphere. One of my favorite restaurants in Little Italy. Make sure to reserve a table in advance!
Great atmosphere. Food was well cooked and brought out in a timely fashion. Couldn’t beat the lamp chops! They were so delicious with the mustard that was rubbed on each piece. Our table of 10 loved our night out on the town with a nice stop here in Little Italy. Music was a bit loud for our taste but classy. Otherwise, would have been a perfect.
In our tour of Little Italy, Angelo's Nido was next. We were the first in the restaurant, they opened at 11:30 and not noon like the others. The Server/Bartender (maybe owner/manager) was getting ready for the day when we walked in and quickly came over to seat us.
Soon after, we had water and delicious bread while we looked over the menu. We ordered drinks while we made our decisions.
We both love Eggplant Parm and almost always order it. Another favorite is Chicken Parm so we both decided to continue the tradition. They both come with a side of pasta with a house sauce. I opted for rigatoni and my wife got angel hair, both with marinara.
I am not sure if they were still setting up for the day or missing staff, but the food did take a little time to arrive. It was not a big deal as we were not in a hurry, it was just a little odd since it was empty.
Once the food arrived, we both commented on the large portions. Not that we were complaining, just odd being lunchtime.
The sauce was good and the pasta cooked well. The presentation was also nice and not sloppy. Both dishes were tasty, although not our favorite. The eggplant was more casserole style and not fried pieces like others. The chicken was good but I would have rather it been pounded out and thinner.
If Angelo's Nido was in any other part of town we would for sure be back. However, with other amazing spots in Little Italy, it is tough to decide. Prices were very reasonable, especially with the bread and pasta. Since we are not around the corner, it is not easy to stop in and explore the menu. Everything aside, they are still a 5-star review and worth a visit.
Stoped by for lunch with my wife and I was left with mixed feelings.
The staff is very professional and kind, service was impeccable.
The pricing is very reasonable for the location.
The food was a hit or miss. All the portions are quite large. We had the antipasti platter for appetizers, which was a mistake, since they brought warm bread and butter, which was ironically better than the platter. It’s not that it was bad, just lackluster for an Italian restaurant.
The pasta was very good and the Calzone was palatable but not very good.
The espressos were perfect.
The venue is very dimly lit and has beautiful italian music on the bqckground, but it definitely feels a bit forced. I can see it trying to be a romantic/elegant restaurant, but it doesn't quite make it.
Overall I'd say check it out if you're in the area, but just get the pasta.
Also there is a 3.5% surcharge for credit card pay, which seems to be customary in the area, but feels outrageous in this day and age.
Edit: I’ve thought a lot about this experience and decided 3 stars was too much. The food was definitely below average and if you consider 3 stars average then this place deserves 2 at best.
A beautiful restaurant that held onto its 1930s charm without looking outdated. It's exactly the right amount of glamor to feel like it's a special occasion restaurant.
And the food is delicious! Our table had fried zucchini and sausage with peppers for appetizers and ravioli, veal medallions and 2 had fettuccine Alfredo with chicken.
*The zucchini was flavorful and tender, not overcooked.
*I'm told the peppers were wonderful with a decent amount of spicy heat.
*I tried the Alfredo and it was amazing. So silky smooth and ultra creamy. I wished I had ordered it.
*My veal was sliced thin, very lightly breaded, pan fried and served with a lightly lemony sauce. It was tender and flavorful.
I didn't try the ravioli. It got demolished too quickly by my SIL.
A perfect birthday celebration for our daughter and SIL.
I highly recommend Angelos Nido Italia.
And they make a perfect cup of after dinner coffee and espresso. If you normally add cream to your coffee try it without. It's so smooth and creamy it needs nothing.
Amazing!!!!!!! Why did I wait so long to try this place??? I have been coming to Little Italy ???????? for years!!! Definitely need reservations.
Atmosphere is beautiful, comfy chairs, excellent service. Our waitress was excellent and so were the others assisting. The bar is very pretty, love the lower lighting. Definitely looked like a perfect place for a date night; but also great for a meal any time.
Food was amazing! Had a delicious prosecco and aperol drink, clams casino and a shrimp pasta. Also, I cannot get over how good my house salad was!!! Whoa! The vinaigrette was insane....best ever and there were strawberries on it too. I thought it was odd for the Winter, but it all went soo well together. My friend had the caesar salad and it was bangin!
I literally was shoveling in my salad because I couldn't get enough! My friend had the pasta fagioli soup, and she said it was the BEST chicken parm. She ever had......ever!! We go to Little Italy ???????? once a month and have never tried this place until tonight!!!
We will definitely be back and bring others with us! Highly recommend!! They also play great music. Nice bread and the garlic butter--Yum!!
