Heard great things about Angelo’s so needed to try it. It was well worth the hype. The onion rings are massive!! They are more like donut rings. The steaks were incredible. I got the ribeye. Mac and cheese was just alright. I even got a picture of the cook cooking the steaks, which was amazing to watch. I truly enjoyed my meal and excited to come back next time on vacation.
First, the restaurant is seasonal. Be sure to check if they are open. This year (2024), they were ending their season around the 24th of October.
We visited on a Saturday, around 6 pm, in October. We had no wait for a table of two. The restaurant is quite large. We ordered Garlic Cheese Nuggets as an appetizer. They are served with their BBQ sauce. Personal preference: I did not enjoy them together, but each separately were very good. We both had steak, my husband the 10 oz sirloin, and I had the filet mignon. We both had side salads and baked potatoes. The salads were quite large for a side salad. It was iceberg lettuce, cherry tomatoes, and cucumber with shredded cabbage/carrots. The closest they had to Italian dressing was Greek, which I don't like, so I did not have dressing. My husband had Ranch dressing. Our meal was served with garlic Texas toast. The baked potato comes with butter, sour cream, and chives. You can add bacon and cheese for $0.50 each. The potato skin is not salted, which I appreciate. The steak is cooked over a hickory pit, so you get a very nice hickory smoke flavor. My husband really liked this. I don't prefer it on my steak (again, personal preference, which I didn't realize until last night). I will likely pick chicken or pork if we make it back to Panama City. The steaks were cooked exactly as we liked them temperature wise.
Overall, we did enjoy our experience and are glad we tried it.
Wonderful experience with fabulous food. These people know how to cook steak and this is coming from and Illinois farmer that produce prime Black Angus cattle and meat. Our waitress was super sweet and she was one of the best waitresses I've had in a long time. There was enough food that we had leftovers and ate them the next day. If you go there try their onion rings
Classic steak house and slways packed! We got there 10 minutes before they opened and there was already a big queue. Staff are great and the food is wonderful. Second time back, but we had take out this time.
Service started out not so good. We waited for about 10 minutes before our server came by. She initially seemed disinterested and was not familiar with bar service (she wasn't able to answer a basic question about margarita flavors). As the evening moved on, she eventually became more professional and friendly.
The food was mediocre. I had beef vegetable soup, 8oz filet w/baked potato. My granddaughter had a salad, filet w/mac & cheese. The soup tasted like Campbell's canned soup, the baked potato was hard with dried chives, the mac & cheese tasted like fake cheese.
The steaks, though, were delicious. Cooked perfectly and melted in your mouth.
The steak was over seared! It was almost burnt! It was supposed to be 30-34 ounces, and it was 24 at best and the side of broccoli was tiny! The kids chicken tenders and fries cost $13.99 for 3 frozen tenders out of a bag! Highly disappointed for what I paid!
The place was huge and the waitress was great. The food was not as good as texas roadhouse. Steak was very thin and overcooked. 10 oz sirloin was 27.99 with two sides. Enjoyed it once but won't go back.
I have ate here since I was a small child with my parents. We came every June to PCB and this was a place my parents loved!
Here I am grown eating at this nostalgic place for me and I am sure others.
Brings back floods of memories for me!
The steaks are amazing! They are cooked over wood which gives that smoky taste. The steaks are tender and mouth watering! The Salads and Baked potatoes are fresh as well!
We ate on Monday I had the ribeye. Amazing!
So good we went back Friday night and I had the NY strip…amazing! Worth every penny!
Our waiter Robert was amazing! Customer service from start to finish was top notch!
If you’re in the area starting in March 2024..do yourself a favor and swing by! Never disappoints.
Hey and take your picture out front with Big Gus!
