Best WLM Reviews
My previous review was a very generous 3 a couple years ago for a very poorly cooked pizza. I stopped in today to give them a second chance and the slice I got was much much better, and probably just about as good as any in the immediate area. I'm giving a 5 because I don't want to bring down a local establishment's rating because I have a high standard for pizza. In reality it's closer to it's 4.2 average score on google reviews. The best part about the pizza was the crust. It was baked very well, and the crust was crunchy but soft in the middle and it had an overall good texture and feel to it. The cheese was fine and the sauce was not my favorite type of sauce but it wasn't bad at all. I'll be trying them again with a fresh pie at some point. Overall a much better experience than last time and a testament to the fact that you should give places a second chance. A solid not bad, which is good for Citrus County. Guys weren't overly friendly but I do not care at all about that as long as the pizza tastes good. Some of the best eateries I've been to had service that was more serious than kissing your butt friendly. That's fine. I'll be back at some point.
Food was great! Service was great! Quaint location right in Downtown Inverness. I will return. Soooo much better than chain restaurants.
Linda was a great server, super friendly and took great care of me. She was helpful in selecting my meal. I tried the pinot noir and the chianti. Both were surprisingly good; I heartily recommend them. I tried a slice of the NY pizza, but although it tasted fine, it was definitely not NY pizza (crust was flimsy toward the middle, no oil spill, crust wasn't flakey). I had the sausage, peppers, and onion hero, which was terrific. I requested a side of marinara sauce, which made it perfect. I'll be back
Best place in town for Italian, it has a simple menu that packs a punch of the classics.
Service was prompt and friendly. The food is large portions that are DELICIOUS.
Fresh herbs in the marinara sauce are fresh, mushroom fresh.
Perfectly cooked in a brick oven.
Edit:
Ordered through grubhub twice now, this last time we both ordered the rizzolo rolls. I thought for grub hub markup at $14.95 it couldn't be that big. So we ordered their meatballs and sausage side and a side pasta, to be sure. This roll is the size of a newborn child! The meatballs are handmade and so is the sausage. How do I know? The sausage was cut from large links and the taste is so smooth and perfectly seasoned that you can taste the herbs as the after taste.
This Rizzolo roll I order, the chicken parm. It was a religious experience, the chicken is fresh and melt in you mouth tender and every ingredient down to the breading on the chicken hits your palate.
Its incredible that theres still small family restaurants that keep prices reasonable while delivering on HOMEMADE meats, sauces and who knows what else is in-house.
Im starting to think the bad reviews are from snowbird "italians" with a grudge. Sauce is too sour?? Balsamic vinegar is used is many marinara recipes to add depth of flavor and add brightness to the sauce. This isn't ragu, I could even detect a merlot used in the sauce as well. Notice the irregularly shaped herbs, that means it hand cut, no dehydrated herbs or limited. Another about a large party. Ive been with a large party, other local Italian restaurants ive experienced terrible service with large crowds and my meal last. Not at Angelo's, that large party was served as quickly as we were and at the same time.
This place is incredible. Such friendly people and great service! Eydie, our server, is amazing and has been there for 8 years! The restaurant is impeccable and the restrooms are immaculate. The food is not only a tremendous value... it tastes so good! The salad wasn't anything special but it was so fresh. The complimentary rolls were fresh and hot. I highly recommend the Penne Ricce and the large (is huge!) pepperoni pizza! I'd put their pizza pie up against any restaurant in New York. So good. So much cheese. Free eye candy too- the pasta cook is smoking. Just saying,
Nothing really wrong with the place, just very odd that at 6:30 on a Saturday night we were literally the only table in the place. Being a chef in the business the only thing I would say about the food is way to big of portions. Drove my food cost senses crazy! Lol. Over all it was a cozy anniversary dinner with my wife though.
Wonderful Italian restaurant! The dough is amazing! Definitely need to check this place out if you haven't already. I got the chicken alfredo and it was delicious! And I am very picky about alfredo! The garlic knots were amazing. The soup of the day was potatoes and sausage and it was amazing. I would go back just to order the soup! Highly recommend this place! They have other locations as well.
After ordering pizza a couple times from here, we decided to check out the ristorante and dine in. What a wonderful overall dining experience!! Small, quaint place. The cleanliness was outstanding! I mean I started really looking for some dust or something after noticing how impressively clean their dining room, but spotless! Service was excellent; friendly, knowledgeable, and anticipated our needs for such a relaxing, enjoyable dinner. Although, we stuffed ourselves because the food was delicious! From the fried fresh mozzarella to the 2nd best bleu cheese dressing I've ever had in my life (and I've tried countless varieties of BC dressing!)!! Entrees put us over the edge but followed suit with everything else...delicious! Comparibly priced with a lot more heart than anywhere else I've been to eat anywhere around here. A must try, for sure! We will be back. Thank you for the amazing hospitality, April.
