We ordered Take Out from Angelo's Picnic Pizza in Smyrna. It was absolutly delicious! More veggies & meat than any pizza since the 1980's! Perfect amount of sauce and the cheese was so good. I think we've found our new favorite Pizza Place!
Angelo's Picnic Pizza is a great little place in Smyrna…they have a sweet lunch deal of two one-topping slices and a fountain drink for $9. This is the pizza shop that used to be in the Hickory Hollow Mall…dined there many times back "in the day". The slices are huge and very good. I decided on plain cheese and there was nothing plain about these slices. The crust was crispy, light sauce but had good flavor, and the cheese tasted fresh. If you are looking for a slice you can fold like NY street slices, here you go. Easy to fold and they hold up, one slice I actually folded it four times! Great food and the customer service was exceptional. Jacqueline behind the counter is awesome…a bright smile and a wonderful personality. She lights the place up!
I had such high hopes for this place. I had heard really good things about their other location, and I was looking forward to trying their pizza.
I was disappointed.
Mainly I super disappointed by their canned mushroom situation.
We ordered a 2 topping pizza: sausage and mushroom. Overall, the rest of the pizza was fine. However, it was very apparent they use canned mushrooms. The mushrooms on the pizza look exactly like the ones I have in my pantry.
On top of that, the mushrooms didn't even look cooked.
Maybe we'll give them another chance sometime, and stay away from the mushrooms (which is a shame, because they are my favorite topping!).
This wonderful pizza shop just opened near where I live.
Warm, inviting and relaxing atmosphere with comfortable seating for any group indoors or outdoors.
Staff are very friendly and helpful.
Pizza was ready quickly.
Pizza was perfect. I got the 12’ pesto and added mushrooms to it.
Crust is the right thickness and crunch.

Very good pizza. If you're tired of the commercial pizza chains like I have been for years, then you've got to try Angelo's Picnic Pizza.
I've had true authentic old school pizza. This is it! Angelo's reminds me of the pizza from an Italian restaurant that my family would go to when I was a kid. The restaurant was opened for AL Capone in Bass Lake. IN. He had a Lakeside mansion that was 1 of his getaway homes when he left Chicago. That was the best pizza I have ever had. Angelo's look me back to that time, place and pizza.
Highly recommended.
We came here for a company event and we had the best time. Joey and his staff catered to over 30 people with a smile and got the food out fresh and fast.
This was the best pizza I’ve had in the area, I will be coming here again. The prices were reasonable for the size of the pizza and the quality. If you want to support a family business this is the place to go.

They heat up your by the slice pizza in the oven, no soggy heating lamp crust here!
They build your cannoli (not pictured, I was too slow) when you order, so it's nice and crisp.
Clean place simple atmosphere, great menu, lots of variety. Crust and sauce combo are right on. Well done crust and sauce that compliments not overwhelms.
