Best WLM Reviews
The atmosphere was nice, you can see them prepare food as you walk in to be seated, we parked on the side of the street, luckily it wasn't busy at the time. Staff greeted promptly and were very nice. The pimento was tasty not too cheesy or strong, the bread was toasted just right and paired great with the sweet Jalapenos. The chicken tenders were okay, was seasoned but I wasn't impressed with the batter. The garlic steam broccoli tasted weird, broccoli taste vary depending upon how long u cook it and what type of seasoning. The salad was very basic- lettuce, tom, cheese, bacon...the house dressing saved the salad. The house dressing is very similar to Jr cash and California dreaming. Croissant was tasty. My husband said his steak was good and he got the loaded Mash pot, he had to put alot of additional salt. Overall, I would rate it a 3 out of 5. I would come back and maybe try something different.
Stayed at the Hilton for an event at the Convention center and decided to walk down and try this restaurant out after wanting a good steak. We were all pleased with our meals. I got the filet with just a plain baked potato, the wife got the grilled shrimp Caesar salad, and the kids got burgers & chicken tenders. The host and waitress to include the waitress trainee were all very pleasant and professional. We left pleased with our experience and would return again.
My partner and I popped into this place on a whim and we were pleasantly surprised by how good the croissants were.
We started with the Honey Butter Croissants and my god were they delicious. Hot and fresh and just wow.
We both ordered the French 75, which was a rather tasty gin drink. Pretty too.
I got the fettuccini Alfredo which came with a sadder more burnt croissant, not a garlic one. The fettuccini Alfredo came at a great temperature, the sauce was thick and very cheesy.
My partner got the lunch prime rib and was rather bummed by the sheer amount of fat.
Both entrees came with a side salad and you guessed it, a croissant. The salad croissants were good too.
Our server seemed new, inexperienced and rather lost at her job. She nearly gave me a salad with a dressing that would have made me pretty sick. It took far too long to get a box and our check when the restaurant was fairly empty.
I would come back for the honey butter croissants, but I would take them to go.
first visit was Saturday 12 30. we got there early, approx 3 30 and it was
a decent crowd for that time of day, and we were seated right away. we ordered drinks and the pimento cheese app for the table. $10 among 4 people and some came home. it was really good and served with toast bites. I ordered the prime rib medium rate and they nailed it. I had one last week at another restaurant that sailed right past medium rare into medium. it was a great cut and perfectly cooked. service was good and nice atmosphere. beautiful interior. we will be back.
If you enjoy California Dreaming, then you’ll absolutely LOVE this place! They give them a run for their money.
The croissants are flaky and soft with great honey butter. The chicken tenders and sauce are fantastic. Their salads are served with hot crumbled bacon on top. Their cheesy mashed potatoes are out of this world, potatoes around the world want to be served here.
It’s a great atmosphere and wonderful area to walk around after, well placed.
You get a lot of food too which warrants the price.
Definitely my new go to date night spot!
Very nice casual “fancy” place to eat before a show. Koger theatre and colonial life are right there within walking distance. My waitress was great although her name slips my mind. She was extremely busy but kept a great attitude. The food was ok for me. I did enjoy my salad, croissants and garlic butter broccoli but the chicken fell a little flat for me. Had great flavor but was a tad bit dry for liking, seems they could have put more sauce on it. Overall I’d go back and recommend this place.
No complaints. Great pizza. Good crust. Amazing waitresses and waiters. Perfect atmosphere. PHENOMENAL side house salad, just like a mini California dreaming salad. Will definitely be back!
I've been at 1801 previously, and never any issues. Went last night, and they just weren't up to par. At least with my meal. I think everyone else was pretty satisfied.
We had the firecracker shrimp, which was pretty good. It definitely had a kick to it! I ordered a well done filet with loaded potatoes and Ceasar salad, hubby had French fries and broccoli and mom had fried Flounder and shrimp. I also ordered the She Crab soup.
The salad was fine, the croissant was The Best!! It was light, flaky and just the right amount of honey butter!! The She Crab was missing flavor, I added salt and that didn't help at all. My main entree with the steak, I didn't get to enjoy at all. If you notice the pic, I requested a well done steak. You can see the blood on the plate. They took it back and cooked it more and it still wasn't done. Very disappointed!!! So they boxed up my potatoes and I ordered some broccoli as hubby's was pretty good.
Our server Darius was WONDERFUL! Very attentive, provided great recommendations, and always had a smile.
I'll give them the benefit of the doubt, maybe it was just late and the chef was tired. I would still go back, and order something else! Maybe just the croissants!!!
