Best WLM Reviews
Classic Italian and one of the best chicken parm's I've ever had. The chicken was crispy and their marinara sauce is excellent. We also had the linguine vongole with red sauce. There were lots of clams which were fresh and not chewy. However, the sauce was heavy on the oregano. Our server and all of the staff were friendly and attentive.
We came on Sunday at 2:30. Right from the start we got our bread, olive oil, and water. Maigin was our server and let me tell you, she knows what she is doing! Got us our drinks and took our our order. Appetizers came out, we got the fried mozzarella and the fried calamari. Both so fresh! Same with our entrees, we got chicken francese, alfredo, manicotti, and chicken and fries. Everything was piping hot fresh out the kitchen. Maigin got everything we needed! More bread, containers, refills she was on top of it. Giving us top notch service while having multiple other tables and helping bag up to-go orders. Maigin was just fantastic and we hope to get her as our waitress next time we come back.
Our first visit to Providence's Little Italy was very memorable thanks to an incredible visit to Andino's Italian Restaurant. We arrived for Sunday lunch close to 1 PM. Parking is available in adjacent lots. However, posted signs for $20 seemed unreasonable. I was able to get street parking for free.
We were seated immediately at a cozy table for two. They have a very full menu and an extensive wine list and specialty cocktails. I didn't notice any lunch menu, so we're dealing with dinner prices. My wife went straight for the à la carte lobster ravioli. I had the chef's special veal chop with baked potato and green beans. We also ordered Conch style "Loaded Snails" as an appertizer. This was going to be an adventure. We also ordered cocktails too.
The cocktails arrived shortly after ordering. Lunch took longer, but we weren't in a rush. The appetizer was interesting. We're used to escargot, which is served hot. This was served cold. It was definitely different, but okay. My wife liked it better than me. Our meals arrived and presented well. The veal's wine sauce was out of this world! My wife loved her ravioli.
We effectively had three people working our table, so we never had to ask for anything. When we finished our meals, they happily boxed everything for us. My only complaint would be the expensive parking and no lunch menu offered. Otherwise, this was an impressive first visit. Great food and service! Enjoy!
One of the many great Italian restaurants on Federal Hill, Andino’s is definitely on the fancier side compared to its neighbors. The service was great, bartender was friendly, checked in often but not overwhelmingly so, and seemed to enjoy talking with her customers. There was a great wine selection and I really enjoyed my glass. The food menu is fairly pricey overall, but the food was great and I feel like the price of the special I ordered was pretty good. Big portions as well, took home enough leftovers for two other sittings. My biggest complaint is that the bar seats felt a bit uncomfortable to me, like I couldn’t push myself in enough, so might want to consider seating elsewhere if that’s something that might bother you. Overall great experience here!
This was an incredible way to finish our final day in Providence! The food was over the top, and the service was incredible. If I am ever back in Providence, I will make it a point to dine here again.
We tried this restaurant because it had good Google reviews. It was great! The staff were awesome, the food was delicious, and the vibe was just right. We ordered a variety of dishes to share, just to try as much as we can from the menu. They were all fantastic. One little note, is that staff be familiar with specials'/menu's content, as we asked for no pork and the two steaks were wrapped in prosciutto.
Try and reserve your table ahead of time, it gets busy as the food is really that good. Give yourself ample time to get there for parking (off street/paid parking/Valet are available). HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!
Amazing food and amazing service!! Amazing atmosphere great valet parking took my wife here for date night and she loved it definitely going to be a returning customer!!!!
I won't lie - part of the reason we went to this place was the owner's vehement defense posted on bad reviews. Part of it is also that the menu looked so good so we wanted to see what the deal was for ourselves.
In short, there was absolutely nothing to complain about. I guess if we want to bait a restaurant owner, we'll have to look elsewhere.
Server was wonderful... He struck just the right balance of being attentive and friendly without being making us feel rushed, and we were not surprised to learn he's been doing this a while. Years of experience shows.
The cocktail list was awesome. So many things I wanted to try but the Italian Paloma was so delicious instead of trying something else, I got a second. My partner's hot and dirty martini was good too and filled a generous sized glass clear to the brim... Not my thing but he loved it.
We partially came for the calamari, seeking out the hard to find "Rhode Island style" with garlic butter and hot peppers. This did not disappoint and was crispy even with the buttery garlic sauce. Honestly did not even need the marinara. To the reviewer who said the peppers were canned, have you seriously never seen a pickled cherry pepper before?
The eggplant rolletini was off the hook and super substantial with a generous amount of prosciutto along with eggplant, sauce and cheese. Big does not impress me if it's not also good did this was delicious.
We rounded out our appetizer meal with the lobster ravioli. I was surprised get a huge chunk of sweet lobster, and the pink sauce was delicious.
Great service plus generous, beautiful and delicious cocktails along with delicious and huge portions on the food makes this place a win all around. Happened to be in the area for travel, but might make a return trip just for dinner again.
