This is the third year in a row we've been here and it's always been a fun and relaxing vacation trip. This year we had the haunted house again like last year and it was great. Even our ragdoll cat loved it.
We had a lovely fire and played a lot of mini golf and everyone had a great time.
The people who manage the place were very nice and chill and we had great service.
We shall be back, hopefully next year again.
Nice location but the actual KOA campground itself it's a little ragged. No grassy areas. Everything is cramped up. If you have visitors while you're in town they have to stop at the office even in the rain to check in. Because you can't have more than one visitor. What in the world?I personally thought that was over the top.
This KOA is wonderful. Second time we have been. We have stayed at KOA's all over the US and we would definitely stay here again and again. There are plenty of things to keep the kids happy, my niece loved it here. The only reason I gave it three stars is because the cabin we stayed in, the "haunted" cabin, does not have an a/c unit in the loft area, just a large fan, so as cool as it was downstairs with the a/c, my mother and niece were very uncomfortable sleeping upstairs. Hot air rises, this we know. The downstairs a/c does not cool off the loft. Other than that, we loved it! The cabin is decorated so cute and added to the "haunted" tale, the campground is clean and we loved the staff. Can't wait to go back in the fall!!!
Booked reservation and paid in full in Nov 2023 for a July 2024 stay. Upon arrival, manager said I owed an extra $8. Since my receipt was in my MH , I paid the extra amount. After setting up our coach in our site, I found my confirmed reservation receipt and saw 1 night at $57 and 2 nights at $65 and paid in full. The receipt from the manager showed all 3 nights at $65 hence the difference of $8. I went back to the front desk and showed the manager that she owed me a credit of $8. First she said they raised their rates after I made the reservation. I told her that 2 of the nights showed $65 on my confirmation so the rates didn’t go up. I told her the rate of $57 for first night was probably due to weekday rate (Thursday). She then said this was a special event week so all nights should be $65. I told her I had a paid for receipt showing paid in full and she can’t up charge me upon arrival. She said “oh really, why can’t I?” I then asked her if she needed the $8 that much to keep this campground afloat and in business. She said “Is the $8 gonna bankrupt you?” At this point I lost my composure and told her I had a paid in full receipt and demanded my $8 credit due to principle and decent honest business practice. Only after I lost my cool did she finally credit me $8. What a complete idiot of a manager. Campground is old, wore out, all gravel and dirt roads with multiple potholes, very tight navigating a MH, and generally not worth even $57/night. I highly recommend you don’t camp with these fools.
Our cabin was very clean. Staff was super friendly. Although full due to a Clemson game it was very quiet. Well maintained!!
We were in town for a wedding and this location was 8 minutes away from the venue. Smooth check-in, friendly staff, nice sites. I've been to KOAs that feel like parking lots, but this one had plenty of trees and the dog park area was a nice way to spend some off lease time with the dogs.
Lake Hartwell KOA was a beautiful well maintained campground. The staff was exceptional as well. Debi helped me on the phone before our visit and was a great help during our stay as well.
Quite disappointed. Paid extra for the premium tent site and it was definitely not worth it. Rotted wood barriers and just not the level of quality I was hoping for. We counted 12 signs with rules or instructions as soon as we pulled onto the property. The staff escorting us to our site was quite wonderful. Very helpful and pleasant. The restroom was clean but my daughter had a difficult time using the shower head. We think it may have been broken. Overall the site is just crowded. The lots and even the cabins are way too close. Unfortunately, I would not stay again.
