Not quite what I was expecting for the price & of what is advertised as a top end hotel. I know it rides on been the old Riot House Hotel all the rock bands stayed in. It was a perfectly fine hotel. Clean comfortable bed, tiny shower room but adequate. Quite dark corridors. No coffee maker in the room. Supposed to be free coffee at reception. But it was working just once during our stay. We did then have to buy from the coffee shop area. They do have free snacks, which is handy. Breakfast was included, which was good & served with a smile. You can pick from the set menu , hot drink, juice, & hot breakfast.... Not sure if I'd pay $95 for breakfast for 2 though, we had a deal with our stay so lucky was included. Next door to the comedy store. A mile or so to the Rainbow Bar & grill which was great. Also Saddle Ranch chop house was very good, great food & just a few steps away.
Very nice hotel in Beverly Hills. Kind of cool that it's next to the Comedy Store. The staff is friendly. The rooms are spacious and clean. They have a nice gym as well. Leaving an extra sentence because it's required to be 200 characters minimum.
Really nice experience! Water in reusable bottles was free, coffee/tea aswell. There was complimentary wine served during 1 hour every night in the hotel lobby bar. Great rooftop pool (heated). Rooms was great, there was a tiny smell, but nothing to bother about.
Can really recommend for the price and the location.
We chose to park 5 min walk away from the hotel, much cheaper than using the valet parking.
Amazing stay. The property is beautiful and I had a great view. They did charge for better views, but it was worth it. ||Great location and friendly staff. I do wish the front desk were more knowledgeable about the area but they were still very helpful and kind. ||The pool deck is very pretty and has a great view of WeHo. The food was very good and I ordered a lot! ||I will definitely come back. :)
This was a super fun spot in a great location for shows, sites and great food. Fascinating history on the hotel too. If those walls could talk! The hotel had a nice casual bar and some great bites too. I’d definitely stay there again if we came back to the area.
Great hotel with an excellent location bang on the sunset avenue next to comedy club. The rooms were spacious with floor to ceiling windows and the beds were comfortable. Shoutout to Kaitlyn at the front desk for assisting us with everything from tours to luggage.
Rooms were so so. Beds and pillows were good quality. The shower sprays in your face horizontally, they don’t tilt very well. no shower door. It’s very cold in the shower due to air flow and the misty spray of the low water usage shower head. Location is awesome, don’t expect to be too impressed otherwise. Nothing beyond that is anything special. Favorite part was the comedy store is next door.
I could only apologize to my spouse after we entered our room. I have stayed at multiple other Andaz locations, and thought from those experiences that there was a certain level maintained throughout all of their properties. Upon stepping off of the elevator, it was apparent via the smell that this place has not been taken care of properly. It smelled of a cheap motel near a beach. Some type of mildew/mold combination of smells lingered as we entered our room as well. We changed rooms, changed floors, same smell. The only place where you can’t smell this funk is the lobby.
The rooms are also disappointing besides the smell. There’s no overhead light, and quite frankly weird lighting throughout. It’s basically like a cheap motel room that they added some new tiling in the bathroom. The door to the bathroom was a joke. A sliding door that had no handle and couldn’t lock. Luckily we didn’t need the lock, but it’s just highlighting how ratchet these rooms are.
The front desk staff was somewhat helpful, somewhat clueless. The first day my wife wanted coffee when she woke up at 6:30 AM. She called down to the front desk and was told that there wouldn’t be coffee downstairs until 7:30AM. Then, I looked up online that you can request a coffee machine in your room. I don’t know why we weren’t offered this, or why there wasn’t one already there. So they did send one up, which was nice. Then we went downstairs at 7 and saw people getting coffee at a machine to the right side of the lobby. The person at the front desk told us that there was coffee there 24 hours a day. Just kind of annoying.
The valet was nice, but $70/day, plus tip, adds up. And there’s not really any other option, unless you want to hike up a steep hill to the hotel.
