Best WLM Reviews

The new owners are Amazing people and incredible cooks. And we still have the original family members working there to keep that atmosphere that makes you feel like you're a part of the family.
The food is fantastic! Especially the new "Pazzo" slice and one of my favorites, the pepperoni with jalapenos and hot honey and fresh mozzarella on a thin crust square slice. It's like a little bit of Italian Heaven in your mouth!
My family has been ordering the grandma pie from Ancona for years, it is something my siblings and I look forward to every time we are home. We were shocked to find the new owners changed the recipe, crust is not as thick, different sauce, and the greatest crime of all, no more fresh mozzarella- It looks and tastes completely different & not in a good way. I am absolutely devastated!
Incredible pizza!
The grandma pizza starts off with a slight crunch, then feels like biting into a fluffy cloud full of flavor.
The marinara sauce was the best sauce I've ever tasted. Once in a while you'll find a nice big chunk of tomato, or onion. I'm usually not a fan of big chunks of tomatoes, but this is an exception to the rule. They show up as pleasant little surprises packed with flavor.
I'd honestly be happy eating it with just bread sticks or garlic knots, and it would still beat the food at most pizzerias.
We took the rest of the pizza home and reheated it in the oven, believe it or not, it was still better than most freshly made pizzas I've had.
This NY pizzeria definitely lives up to its name.
My family has been ordering the grandma pie for years and years. This past week, we went to order a grandma pie and it was completely different! The crust was thin and soft instead of having its usual thickness. The whole thing just tasted completely different AND the price for a pie went up.. Completely disappointed. I think we might have to find a new pizza place if this doesn't get fixed.
Oh Ancona. What are you doing? I understand that things change over time and fresh ideas under new ownership are natural as those who take over want to do things their own way. But the staple of the establishment you purchased is no longer? You don't want to even attempt to put your own spin on it? Shame on you. I tried other items since ownership change but nothing worth noting. No reason to head to Ancona any longer. RIP to one of the best Grandma pies ever.
I used to order the grandma pie all the time because it was the best I had ever tasted. However, since the change in ownership, the recipe for the grandma pie has been altered, and it’s not even close to what the original was, sauce is different, they don’t use fresh mozzarella anymore and the crust isn’t crunchy it’s dull and soft. It's really disappointing, and I won't be ordering it again. The end of a legendary pie.
We ALWAYS ate here as kids to grown ups. Our friend Vinny’s father owns the place was the BEST pizza on Long Island, however the last three times we’ve bought a pie from them not only have the prices increased TWICE in one year with the second being ridiculous, but they’re making the pizza extremely thin! Not cool! The service is usually okay except the chubby short guy who works the register in person and on the phone always has an attitude! Sadly we won’t be eating there or ordering pies anymore not because of the price increase, but for the simple fact that you raise prices on your customers yet thin the pizza out! Such a disappointment.
Amazing food and service in an iconic ambiance. Neighborhood place . 50 years ! Huge portions. Relaxed atmosphere.
