They are fairly basic rooms that are older and look it. During the day It's a very nice place to be. The staff are very friendly and accommodating to the best of their abilities. ||||The room was fine although I'm not sure if cleaning was completely thorough as underwear was left by a previous visitor in my room when I arrived. The biggest issue I had while staying there was the other people at the inn. ||||There were constantly a few men who wander the hallways. They were clearly not employees or guests and just kind of watched you as you walked down the hall. It was very uncomfortable existing in the inn past a certain point at night because they would just be standing around. This combined with the smell of smoke and weed was very telling about what most people were doing at the hotel (seems to be a reoccurring thing from other reviews). Which would be fine if they didn't stand in the halls and watch you at night.||||I wouldn't recommend staying here as a solo traveler. It's very unsettling trying to get into your room with a man a few feet away watching you. Frankly, due to this I don't want to finish the rest of my stay. The price is not worth being watched every time I leave my room. If it weren't for this I'd be willing to stay here again if the price was a little cheaper but I would opt for another hotel.
In my personal experience renting from this hotel I wouldn't let the negative reviews deter you from renting this more than serviceable and accommodating hotel for a 2 day trip to the town. My room was just what I had expected, with a fridge, working 32 inch tv, etc. I was able to store my recently purchased beers and sleep peacefully. The hot tub and pool were both open during my stay but I didn't use them. Morning breakfast is hot coffee and breakfast bars but it's at least something. Overall I had a positive experience here.
After four days of traveling across country, it was a comfortable night of stay at the Anchorage Inn. There was a good snack/breakfast in the morning. Staff was very personable. No towels in the room. Room was clean though and more than adequate. Good overall.
I spent two nights here. After the fees, and an $8 a day charge for the safe in the room my cost was $200 per night This is a $100 hotel (at best). The tiny bathroom had two severely broken floor tiles and a door that really should be thrown away. The shower curtain became “one with you” once you turned the water on.
It’s hard to wash when you’re constantly pushing that out of the way. Turning the water on in the shower was a challenge but once I was taught how, it worked okay I guess. Beds were definitely uncomfortable. There were water spots on the ceiling, and difficult to get the room temperature to stay steady. Seemed like it was always too hot or too cold. This could be attributed to operator error, but I doubt it. Breakfast was basic with prepackaged snacks and the coffee was good.
The biggest problem I have is that this (and I’m being generous) place is way overpriced for what it provides. Friendly folks at the front desk, and a very good location. Priced less than the nice chain hotels are charging, but with hindsight, I would have paid the extra money and stayed in a higher end hotel. That’s my problem not Anchorage Inn’s.
I’m sorry to say that I will never stay here again and I urge you to look closely before booking, or just pay the $300+ per night for the higher end hotel chains.
Grim is the only word I can use to describe this place. The outside looks pretty clean and the staff we dealt with were very nice, BUT the hall ways and rooms are like something from the 50s. Ripped bed sheets, mouldy bathroom walls, stained floors and some funky smells throughout the property.
There is nothing the staff can do to make staying here more pleasant, the place just needs to be completely renovated. It would be nicer to camp in the carpark than sleep in these rooms.
This was a last minute find was very greatful for a room at that hour of the night Very friendly staff. Large room . Would definitely return in the future. Exterior and lobby area very clean. Basic to go breakfast Coffee and danish Overall was pleased with my stay
Hotel was clean. Check in and out was easy. Breakfast was lack luster pre packaged muffins and donuts. Location is very convenient, walkable to Applebees and higher ground. Free wifi but it’s very slow. Otherwise decent hotel for the price, I would stay again in a pinch
Best price in the area and felt right at home. My room had a safe, mini fridge, microwave, and television. The pool and hot tub were open and available, and Ryan at the front desk was so friendly and he fixed my TV. 10/10
